4:30pm       4900 Blk Mission                              Robbery

A Safeway customer walked into the store and went directly to the liquor aisle where he selected three bottles of alcohol. Then he walked past the cash counters without paying and out of the store with a security officer in pursuit. The security officer told Ingleside Officers Quinlan, Siracusa, Smith, and Wise, that he chased the suspect northbound on Mission before finally cornering him a block from the store. He pinned the suspect against a parked car and recovered the stolen items. When he released the suspect, the robber grabbed the security officer’s knife from his pocket and pointed it at the employee. Fearing for his safety, the officer decided not to try to recover the knife and instead turned around and ran back to the store with the stolen merchandise. Report number: 160634105
