Arrests:

3:55pm                     4000 Blk. Mission             Battery of a Police Officer
Ingleside officers McMilton, Dito, Toomey, and Sandoval were dispatched to a report of a rollover accident. When the officers arrived they found a Volkswagen Beetle on its roof in the middle of the street. As Officer Sandoval and the other officers exited their patrol car and ran toward the overturned VW, concerned that there were still occupants inside, a man grabbed Sandoval attempting to stop him. The officer pushed the man away trying to continue his rescue attempt but the man, who turned out to be highly inebriated, continued to grab Officer Sandoval’s clothing. The suspect was later cited for battery on a police officer, obstructing a police officer, and being under the influence in public. Fortunately, the occupants of the overturned vehicle, which had collided with another vehicle, suffered no injuries. Report number: 160537628

Serious Incidents:

12:34am                  5200 Blk. Diamond Heights                            Robbery
A grocery store security employee watched as a man and woman entered the store. The guard recognized the pair as suspects in several shoplifting incidents at other stores. The pair grabbed a cart and several cloth bags and walked to the liquor aisle. There the male suspect placed approximately 20 bottles of liquor in the bag and the cart and walked to the front of the store and past the checkout counters. The guard struggled with the male suspect in an attempt to stop the pair from leaving but eventually, fearing for his safety, let the pair go. The suspects ran to a waiting BMW SUV in the parking lot which sped away. Report number: 160537452
