Arrests:

4:19am       900 Blk Geneva                      Graffiti Vandalism
A store owner working inside his business heard someone pulling on his security gate. He saw a man with a red baseball hat and a hoodie climbing up the gate and then dropping down only to repeat the action. He also heard the sound of paint spraying and, during his second attempt, saw the suspect with a spray can in his right hand. He called “911” and Ingleside Officers Sandoval, Lozano, and Zhao soon arrived on scene. The officers detained the suspect who admitted spraying “DGT” which stood for “Don’t Get Twisted” and “KHY”, which was shorthand for “Keep Hood Yours” on the complainants store as well as the adjacent MUNI shelter. He said the messages were for “anti-gentrification” issues he wanted to post. The suspect was cited for malicious mischief vandalism and graffiti on government and private property. Report number: 160258078

Serious Incidents:

4:30pm       500 Blk Gates                         Hot Prowl Burglary
A homeowner exited his house out the front door and went around the side of the building into an office. While there, a short time later, he heard the “beeping noise” from the security system on his car telling him his car, parked across the street, was being unlocked. The homeowner, told Ingleside Officer Parker and Sgt. Ly, that he quickly realized that he didn’t have his car keys with him. He ran around the house and into his front door, which he forgot to lock, and realized that his messenger bag, camera, camera lens, and car keys were missing from his living room couch. The stolen car keys were the only set he had for his vehicle. The officers recommended that he tow the vehicle to a safe place out of the neighborhood, which he did, since the burglar was likely to return and steal his car. Report number: 160260487
