Ly and Officer Fabela were on routine patrol driving up Mission Street when they spotted a Toyota Corolla with Virginia license plates. A computer check revealed the car was reported stolen earlier in San Francisco. The officers followed the Corolla until in turned into a Safeway parking lot space. Ly and Fabela exited their patrol car and ordered the driver to get out. He complied and was placed in handcuffs. He admitted stealing the car because he wanted to visit his girlfriend in Sacramento. He stated he found the keys in the street and walked around pressing the “unlock” button on the key fob until he found the vehicle. He was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for auto theft. Report number: 160189605Serious Incidents:9:58am Visitacion/Sawyer Shooting Into a VehicleA report of “shots fired” sent Ingleside Officers Aiello and Phillips to the intersection of Visitacion and Sawyer. Before they arrived Dispatch re-directed the officers to the Bayview District address on Jamestown Street where two victims had called police. The two men told the officers they were driving East on Vistiacion when a Ford SUV pulled up next to them and an occupant fired several gunshots at them. The victim’s vehicle had numerous gunshot holes in the doors and windows. Fortunately the two victims were not hit by the gunshots. Workers at Visitacion Valley Middle School called police to report that one of the bullets shattered a classroom window. Police found the bullet inside. Fortunately, the classroom was empty.
