A computer check revealed that car was stolen earlier from a San Francisco address. The officers opened the driver’s door and found a suspect they knew from several prior arrests. He was placed in handcuffs and the officers removed the “shaved” key used to operate the stolen Honda. When asked why he was in the stolen car, the suspect replied, “I ain’t no rookie. I ain’t going to say sh..!” The silent suspect was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for auto theft and four active arrest warrants. He also had three previous arrests for auto theft. Report number: 1601738689:05pm San Jose/Randall D.U.IA motorist thought that San Jose Avenue had three lanes instead of two going south towards the freeway from Randall Street. Unfortunately, the lane he drove on was for streetcars and wasn’t paved. A passing motorist saw the stuck Cadillac on the tracks and called police. Ingleside Officers Alday and Tom arrived and found the driver with slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. He failed a field sobriety test and was placed in custody. While en-route to Mission Station for a breath test he told the officers “I am stupid. I was driving drunk. This is the stupidest thing I’ve done. Am I in big trouble”? He continued to apologize to the officers for his action. Once at Mission Station the breath test revealed an alcohol level more than three times the legal maximum. He was taken to the County Jail and booked for D.U.I. Muni inspectors had his vehicle towed from the streetcar tracks. Report number: 160194789Serious Incidents:12:26am Theresa/Cayuga ArsonA woman parking her car noticed an older Ford Crown Victoria stopped in the middle of the intersection of Theresa and Cayuga with the vehicle doors open. She told Ingleside Officers Hardy and Scott that a small newer model sedan with three men inside soon arrived and parked near the Ford at the intersection. A man exited the small sedan ran up to the Ford and entered the passenger side of the vehicle. Soon thereafter, the Ford burst into flames and the suspect ran from the Ford to the waiting car which sped away. Fire Department personnel arrived and extinguished the blaze. An SFFD arson investigator was assigned the case. Hardy and Scott were unable to contact the registered owner of the Ford.
