On this evening, Ingleside Officers Tweedy and Calupad were on patrol when they spotted an older Nissan 350z in the park’s Moscow parking lot. The lot is closed to all vehicles from 10pm to 6am. The officers approached the vehicle and questioned the two occupants. Both had a quantity of marijuana and the driver had a backpack nestled between the front seats. The officers asked what was in the backpack and the driver revealed it contained a handgun. The officers opened the backpack and found a loaded 9mm Beretta along with several cartridges. The 21 year old owner was cited for possession of a concealed loaded firearm, ammunition, and for parking illegally in the park.
