7:31pm 1600 Blk Florida ResistingA call came in about a man, a possible car burglar, casing vehicles in the neighborhood. Dispatch sent Ingleside Officers Calupad and Watts to investigate. The officer’s first pass through the neighborhood turned up empty. The second pass revealed a man wearing a hoodie and carrying a backpack, matching the description provided by callers to dispatch. Calupad and Watts exited their patrol car and approached the man asking him to stop. He continued walking and the officers again requested that he stop and talk to them. Again he refused. Officer Watts grabbed the suspect’s arm and attempted to stop him but the man refused and pulled his arm away. Officer Watts, along with the help of Officer Calupad, struggled for several minutes with the suspect before finally putting him into handcuffs. A computer check revealed several previous contacts with the police. The suspect, while in custody, made several unintelligible comments. The officers called for medical assistance and the suspect was taken to San Francisco General for evaluation. He was cited for resisting arrest and released into the care of physicians.
