Chief Gregory Suhr
The
City and County of San Francisco invites you to join a highly respected police
department and serve the citizens of one of the most beautiful cities in the
country. San Francisco Police Officers perform a wide variety of duties to
promote public safety and security, prevent crime and enforce the law. Police
officers perform a number of essential functions. For example, they patrol
districts to prevent and detect crime; respond to calls for assistance; conduct
criminal investigations; interact with the community to build cooperation and
support; pursue and arrest suspects; enforce traffic and parking laws; write
reports and maintain records; work with superiors, peers, and others as a team;
prepare for and participate in planned events; prepare for court and give
testimony; and fulfill other administrative duties when required. This is much
more than a job; it is an opportunity to build a career of which you can be
proud.

Blk San Bruno Unlicensed Driver
A vehicle swerving in and out of traffic on San Bruno Avenue
caught the attention of Ingleside Officers Campos and Thompson. The officers
stopped the car on the 3200 block of San Bruno Avenue. When officer Campos
walked up to the driver’s side window he smelled the odor of unburned
marijuana. The 16 year old driver and his 15 year old passenger were asked to
exit the car. Inside the officers found a backpack with more than 33 grams of
marijuana. The driver had a restricted license where he was not allowed to
drive with a passenger younger than 20. He was cited for the marijuana
violation and the vehicle code violation and was eventually released to his
mother. Report number: 150731921

Blk Mission Theft, Resisting Arrest
A man who had been banned from the Safeway because of
previous thefts, returned to the store to stock up on more stolen items. The
store’s security watched as he placed chicken wings, rice, flower, buttermilk,
and pharmaceutical items into his pockets, only paid for some of the items at
the checkout counter, and left with store security tailing him. As the suspect
walked away the store security officers flagged down Sgt. Ly who was driving
by. Sgt. Ly told the suspect to stop but the suspect refused and Sgt. Ly, along
with the help of the recently arrived Officer Bryant and Ng, placed the suspect
in custody. The stolen items, worth less than $50 were returned to the store.
