Blk Sussex Burglary
Ingleside Officers Morgante, Phillips and Ortega responded
to a report of a burglary in progress at a home on Sussex Street. While in
route, the officers encountered the victim and her husband, who had followed
the suspects into the Glen Park BART station. The officers contacted a BART
employee who said one of the suspects was on a Millbrae bound train that was
being held at the platform. The officers boarded the train and found the
suspect sitting down and placed him in custody. They also recovered a cell
phone belonging to the suspect under the seat where he was sitting. He was
brought up to the station entrance where the victims identified him as the man
seen earlier, who with a companion, had broken into their home and stolen
several electronic items. The homeowners also said that the suspect had a
female accomplice who was also followed and observed throwing a purse over a fence
into a neighbor’s backyard. Officer Morrow found the purse. Another witness, at
a market, told the officers that the same female suspect had discarded a
backpack at a street side dumpster. Officers recovered the backpack which
contained several of the electronic items stolen from the home. The male
suspect was taken to Ingleside station and booked for burglary, unlawful entry,
possession of stolen property, and an outstanding warrant. Report number:

male inside the store. The officers searched the store and found a pair of
“brass knuckles” belonging to the suspect in custody. Officer Denning, during a
