Serious Incidents:
After 6:00pm Manchester/Stoneman Hot Prowl Burglary
A woman resident went downstairs in the morning and found
her front door ajar. The door, besides allowing egress to the living areas of
the home, was also the entrance to the storage area on the bottom floor. The
woman went into the storage area and found her daughters swim bags missing, a
backpack belonging to one of her daughters emptied onto the floor, and items of
clothing belonging to the burglars lying on the ground. Just as troubling was that
the homeowner’s key cabinet was open and the keys to her Volvo station wagon
missing. Outside, so was the Volvo. Also missing were clothing items belonging
to her daughters and her husband’s backpack containing his driver’s license,
passport and credit cards. Ingleside Officer Morgante responded and checked the
home for signs of forced entry. The homeowner told Officer Morgante that the
front door may have been left unlocked. She also said that craftsmen had access
to the home for the past several weeks working on the hardwood floors on the
lower two levels. The homeowner gave Morgante a copy of a credit card printout
showing the burglars had used her stolen credit card at local grocery stores
and a gas station. Report number: 150273064
