Serious Incidents:


1:42pm       400 Blk Cortland                    Theft
While working on her work issued laptop in a coffee shop, a suspect entered through the front door, walked over to the victim and stole the computer right off of the table while the victim was still typing.  The suspect immediately fled the coffee shop and ran down the street and into a waiting vehicle which fled the scene. The startled and unsuspecting victim attempted to chase the suspect down the street but was unable to keep up on foot.  Officer Imsand and Sgt. Kumli reported to the call and interviewed the victim and witnesses at the coffee shop.  A survey of the area found negative results matching the identity of the suspect or vehicle as described by the victim. Surveillance cameras were identified in the coffee shop and surrounding areas.  Report Number 150341956  


4:15pm       1700 Blk Church                    Theft
Another victim working on her laptop in a coffee shop had a similar situation occur.  While sitting in the front window of the shop, the suspect entered through the front door, approached the victim and proceeded to steal the laptop from the table she was working at. The victim and two other patrons of the coffee shop immediately chased after the suspect.  The suspect was then seen entering a white Mercedes vehicle which fled the scene.  One of the chasing patrons was able to identify and record the CA license plate number of the vehicle. Officer Macaulay and Duffin responded to the call and interviewed the victim and witnesses.  Numerous police units then searched for the vehicle in the Ingleside area. Surveillance cameras were identified in the coffee shop and surrounding areas. No one was injured during the incident.  A license plate match was successfully identified to a white Mercedes registered in a neighboring city.

4:25pm       700 Blk San Jose                    Robbery
As the victim crossed the street at the crosswalk of a busy intersection while talking on her iPhone, the suspect pulled up in a white Mercedes, got out of the rear passenger side of the vehicle approached the victim and forcefully stole the phone from her hand.  The suspect immediately re-entered the vehicle and sped off with what the victim described as four other suspects who were in the car.  The victim attempted to track her phone remotely but was unsuccessful.  Officers Ocreto and Khan responded to the victim who had been flagged down by the patrolling officers.  No one was injured in the incident.  Report Number 150342255
