Arrests:

3:28am       Unit Blk Persia                          Stolen Vehicle
It’s a bad idea to steal a car and then drive around at night with your headlights off. But that’s exactly what a thief did after stealing a car from a south of Market address. Ingleside Officers Hoge and Ferronato spotted the vehicle driving southbound on Mission Street, near the Excelsior Street intersection. They stopped the driver who had a suspended license. He was taken into custody and booked for grand theft auto. Report Number: 150337676

2:40pm       4600 Blk Mission                    Aggravated Assault
A man and his 14 year old granddaughter were sitting at a bus shelter when they were approached by an unknown man. The man got between the granddaughter and her grandfather and closely approached the granddaughter while intently staring at her. The grandfather asked the man to move away from his granddaughter but instead of complying, the suspect said, “This is a bus stop I can stand wherever I want.” When the grandfather asked him to move again, the suspect began punching the grandfather in the face and head. He continued the assault for several minutes before passersby helped end the attack. The suspect then walked away and was soon apprehended several blocks away on Mission Street by Ingleside Officers Bernard, Macaulay, Hopkins, and Trail. He was arrested for aggravated assault and transported to Ingleside Station for booking. Report number: 150339008

Serious Incidents:

1:20am       100 Blk Arbor                          Hot Prowl Burglary
A sleeping homeowner was awoken by the sound of breaking glass. He got up out of bed and looked out the window at his car thinking someone was trying to break into his vehicle. But his car was okay, so he went back to bed only too awakened again by the sound of his garage door opening. Again, he got up and this time he saw a man walking out of his garage with his bicycle. The homeowner called police and Ingleside Officer Marshall and McMilton responded. They found the garage door open and a window pane in the door broken. They surmised that the burglar broke the pane and then reached through the broken window to grab the emergency release handle to open the garage door. The loss was a customized bicycle worth in the neighborhood of $5000. Report number: 150337494

7:45am       Mission/Excelsior                    Robbery
Ingleside Officer Aslam was on routine patrol when he spotted a man standing in the middle of Mission Street waving his hands at the officer. Aslam pulled over and the man said he was walking home from work when three men approached him from behind and threw him on the ground. They punched and kicked him repeatedly before going through his pockets and removing his cell phone, wallet, and cash. After removing his property, the three ran southbound on Mission and boarded a southbound #14 Mission MUNI bus. Officer Aslam broadcast a description of the robbers and Ingleside Officer Carrasco stopped the bus near Mission and Norton Streets. The bus driver told Carrasco the three suspects boarded through the back door and exited the bus at Geneva Avenue. Report number: 150337911

4:59pm       San Jose/Geneva                    Theft
A woman standing at the bus stop in front of the Balboa Park Station lost her cell phone to a thief. The victim told Ingleside Officers Cvetovac and Coulter that she was listening to music on her cell phone when an unknown man suddenly grabbed her phone and then ran away eastbound on Geneva. The victim told the officers that the cell phone was in a case that also contained her Clipper card, a debit card, and a credit card. Report number: 150339296

11:05 pm    400 Blk Argonaut                  Robbery
A man exited a MUNI bus at Velasco and Santo Street and noticed a four door sedan parked in the bus zone with its lights on and engine running. The MUNI rider started walking home on the eastbound on Velasco when he noticed two men following him. Concerned, the victim began running toward his home with the two men chasing him. As he got near his home he noticed the black sedan that was in the bus zone directly in front of him. At that time the suspects caught up with him and one of them struck the victim in the head and face with a handgun. The suspects then went through his pockets and removed his cell phone and wallet before entering the sedan which sped away. Medics were called and the victim was treated for his injuries. Report number: 150340293
