Weather related crime alert; with the current nice weather and increased
temperature, some people are leaving their windows open in an effort to keep
their residences cooler inside. Be extra careful, especially when you leave
your home and leave the windows unsecured. Burglars are always looking for the
easiest way inside your home. Don’t give them that opportunity for the easy
access. Make sure to secure these entry points and leave them locked when you
are not around.
Public Safety; In light of recent events at the
Boston marathon, the police department will be increasing patrols in areas
where the public gather including special events. If you see a suspicious
package that does not look right or does not belong in the area, do not investigate
it yourself. Create a safe distance between you and the suspicious package and
do not use your cell phone to call the police. Use a landline to call “911” and
provide your location and if possible the description of the package. Officers
will be dispatched to assess the situation and take the appropriate action.

There was no loss to the supermarket and the manager requested no further police action. A record check, however, revealed the suspect to have an outstanding warrant and he was transported to Ingleside station for further investigation. 11:36pm 5100 Blk Mission Robbery
Officer Peregrina and several other Ingleside officers responded to assist the victim of a robbery. The suspect then rifled through his pockets and removed some money which he handed to another suspect. The suspect pushed the victim away. The victim walked across the street and called the police. The victim said he was not injured and believed he could identify the suspects if he saw them again. He provided the officers with descriptions of the suspects.
Shortly thereafter, Officers Seavey and Padilla detained the possible suspects aboard a Muni bus. The victim was transported to the area where he identified one of the suspects as having been involved in the robbery.
