Arrests:
12:44pm Santa Rosa/San Jose Auto Theft
Inspector Gasanyan, a member of the Station Investigation Team, was returning to Ingleside Station when he spotted a suspicious vehicle, with three occupants, parked only a few blocks from the station. A computer check revealed the rental car was reported stolen out of San Mateo County. The inspector requested backup and several Ingleside units responded to the scene. All three occupants were removed from the vehicle and Inspector Gasanyan arrested the unlicensed driver for auto theft. Report number: 130178365
8:00pm 900 Blk Teresita Theft
Officers Morrow and Brown interviewed and took a report from a victim who claimed his car was broken into and a brown bag, with computer equipment, stolen from the trunk. One of the stolen items, an Ipad, had tracking software installed. The victim tracked his item and told the officers that the software indicated the stolen Ipad was located at a home on the 700 block of Forester. Officer Morrow and several other Ingleside officers went to the address and interviewed a homeowner who said everyone at her residence had been home for some time except for one person. With her permission, the officers went to a room where the homeowner told the occupant, “The police would like to talk to you”. The officers, who, at the time did not suspect the occupant, apologized for waking him up. The officers said they were looking for stolen items that were “pinging” at that address and asked him if he knew where they might be. After a long pause, with the officers now noticing a “pinging” sound coming from a closet next to the occupant, the man spontaneously said, “Yeah, I took it”. The suspect then walked into his closet and handed them the brown bag stolen earlier that night. He was arrested for theft and transported to Ingleside Station. Report number: 130179943.

The victim chased the suspect but was unable to catch him. The victim also stated the cell phone did not have tracking software installed. Report number: 130177709.
CRIME ALERT: There has been an increase in auto boostings around Precita Park and the surrounding area. Don’t be a Victim.
Take extra precautions to avoid a criminal window-shopping inside your car. Never give them a reason to break into your car and steal your belongings.
Safety Tips:
*Try to park in a well- lit area and always lock your doors and secure your windows.
*Do not leave possessions on the seat or in plain view.
*Never hide belongings under the seat: This is the first place burglars check.
*Never cover expensive items with an article of clothing or blanket: This presents a hidden clue to thieves that items may be underneath.
*Do not leave any important documents inside your car that contain your personal information.
* Do not leave phone or MP3 chargers plugged in: this leads the burglar to believe there are expensive electronics inside your car.
Remember, if a criminal is unsuccessful and is not benefitting from his criminal activity, the thief will move on, thus making your neighborhood less of a target.
