Arrests:
9:35pm Mount Vernon/Alemany Firearm
Officers Burke and Hart responded to assist Taraval units on a call of a robbery that just occurred in the area of San Jose and Mount Vernon. A description of multiple suspects involved was broadcasted for all units searching the area. Officer Burke and Hart observed a suspect matching similar clothing description walking along Alemany Boulevard approaching Mount Vernon. Due to the close proximity of where the robbery had taken place, the officers decided to stop and have a talk with him. This suspect could not give the officers a straight answer and could not say what he was doing in that area, therefore the officers took it a step further and detained him while the robbery investigation was still taking place. Officer Burke conducted a search of the suspect and found him to be armed with a loaded firearm, tucked away in his waistband, and wearing a U.S Military issue ballistic vest. After further investigation, it was determined that this suspect was not involved in the robbery, but because he was a felon in possession of a firearm and bullet proof vest, he was transported to Ingleside Station. Once at the station, it was revealed he was on probation and had an outstanding warrant. The suspect was booked accordingly on numerous firearm and body armor charges as well as the outstanding warrant. Report Number 121033447
