7:17pm 4900 blk Mission Theft/Arrest/Cite
Officers Ocreto and Quintero were sent to investigate a theft at a local grocery store. The officers arrived to find that the store security had someone in custody. The security officers told the officers that they watched the suspect come into the store and walked straight to the liquor section. The security watched as the suspect put a bottle of rum into her purse and walked to the front of the store. The suspect walked past all of the registers, never once stopping to pay for the rum. The security officers followed the suspect outside and after a short brisk chase…three steps, the suspect was taken into detention. The suspect was arrested and then cited to appear in court. 12:34am 200 blk Prague Robbery/Gun
Officers Seavey and Padilla were sent to investigate a robbery case. The officers located the victim and were told the following information. As the victim was walking home she saw two suspects running towards her. The victim said that she crossed the street only to have the two suspects shadow her and cross as well. The victim told the officers that she turned away to walk away from the suspects only to feel them grab her from behind.
The victim told officers that it was at this point when she saw the gun. The suspect pushed the gun into the victims face and demanded she give up her purse. The victim said that she begged the suspects for her to keep some of her property. The suspects told her to “shut up”. The suspects took the victims property and fled the scene. The suspects are described as two black males between 18-20 armed with a gun. The victim was not injured in this incident. Report number 120871115
5:30pm 100 blk Blythdale Hot Prowl Burglary
Police Services Aide Zabarte prepared a report regarding a hot prowl burglary. The victim came to the station and told the PSA that while she was at home with her 3 year old son she heard a suspect trying to get into her apartment by forcing the bathroom window. The victim told the PSA that she screamed as loud as she could and that the suspect fled. The victim responded to the station for the report. There were no injuries or loss in this case. 8:07pm Unit blk Brookdale Robbery
Officers Obot and Johnson were dispatched to investigate a street robbery incident. The victim told the officers that she was waiting for the bus when she saw two suspects walking to her. The victim told the officers that she knew the male suspect but not the female. The female suspect demanded to use the victims’ phone but she refused. The bus that the victim was waiting for arrived, so the victim attempted to get on it.
The female suspect blocked her from getting on the bus and told the male suspect to” get the gun”. The victim got scared and tried walking away. The female suspect then reached into the victims pocket to pull put her wallet. During the struggle for the wallet, it fell out onto the ground. The female suspect yelled out to the male suspect to pick it up. The known male suspect grabbed and walked to a store with the wallet and a group of people that watched the entire robbery tale place and did nothing. The suspects then casually walked away. The victim went home and called the police. Officers were able to confirm the known suspect identity and will request an arrest warrant for him. Report number 120874589
