Arrests:

11:40am              400 Cortland                Stolen Property
Officer Rueca was dispatched to a call regarding stolen property. The suspect came into the store wanting to purchase a battery charger for the electric bike he had in his possession. The store Employee then obtained the serial # from the bike, and looked up the info in the files. The employee found out that the bike was purchased a few months earlier by a resident in the area. Fearing that the bike might be stolen, she proceeded to call the police. Officer Rueca arrived and contacted the original owner of the bike. The owner informed the officer that the electric bike was in fact stolen from his residence, and no one should be in possession of his bike. With the information given, Officer Rueca placed the suspect under arrest and booked for possession of stolen property. Report Number 120861702


Serious Incidents:

12:05am              Silver/Mission               Assault
Officers Bernard and Chew responded to a report of a fight. The officers arrived on the scene and saw the victim lying in the street being cared for by bystanders. The victim was transported to General Hospital where he was given proper medical treatment. The officers met with a witness who informed the officers of the situation. The victim and a suspect were standing at a bus stop when the suspect stated “stop talking s***, or my brothers are going to wipe you out.” To which the victim replied “I’m not talking s*** to you…I’m cool, I’m cool, I’m cool.” Moments later three other suspects arrived at the bus stop. The suspect pointed to the suspect saying “that’s the guy.” The suspects punched the victim in the head, which knocked him to the ground. Once the victim was on the ground the suspects began to kick him. All four suspects then ran down Mission Street, and were out of sight. Officers searched the area for the suspects with negative results. Report Number 120881299

4:00am                Naples/Amazon             Robbery
Officer Pubill was working station duty when a victim came in to file a report of a robbery. The victim stated he was walking down the street when an unknown suspect came up behind him and punched his face. The victim fell to the ground and hit his head. As the victim was lying on the ground, a second suspect rifled through the victims pockets and took money. The two suspects then fled the scene. The victim informed the officer that he would be able to identify the suspects if he saw them again. Report Number 120885893
