Arrests:

12:46pm     Concord/Mission          Battery on Officer
Officer Preston was on patrol when he observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation in front of him. The officer stopped the car and approached the driver. The officer realized that he had dealt with this suspect in the past and that this guy was trouble, so he requested a backup. As the officer asked for a drivers license (the officer knew the driver was suspended) he was immediately met with a barrage of expletives. The officer calmly requested that the keys be handed to him and was met with more expletives.
The officer saw that the suspect was now reaching to start the car, and feared that if the suspect took off he would harm bystanders while fleeing. When he reached to grab the suspects arm he was punched on the face by the suspect. A citizen saw the officer getting hit and called 911.
For the next few minutes the officer and the suspect were engaged in a struggle for the keys to the car! The first Ingleside officers arrived and assisted officer Preston. The suspect was pulled out of the car and cuffed.
This suspect did not hesitate to fight with the officer, what fait would a regular citizen have with someone like this? This suspect was transported and booked for assault on a police officer. Report number 120805368. This is ***Best Arrest of the Day***

2:08pm        200 blk Oxford             Theft of Auto
Officers Hurwitz and Johnson were on patrol their attention was drawn to a car that was parked the driveway of a place where they had arrested someone in a stolen car before. The officers stopped and decided to speak to the occupants of the car. The officers immediately recognized one of the occupants they had arrested before, for stolen auto.
The officers started an investigation. The officers observed that there was an Acura parked directly behind the suspects. The officers conducted a DMV check while the searched the suspects. The search yielded a key on the known suspect, that when checked started the Acura. At the same time the DMV check showed the car stolen!
The suspect had altered keys (burglary tools) and did we tell you she forgot her purse in the stolen car!!! The suspect was arrested and booked at Ingleside Station for Grand Theft and burglary tools.
Because of the attention to detail of our officers, a career criminal will be dressing up as a prisoner this Halloween! Report number 120806322. This too, is the***Best Arrest of the Day***

7:31pm       3100 blk Mission          Drug Arrest
Officers Kabanuck and Kerlegan were patrolling the district when they observed a double parked with no license plates attached on Mission Street. The officers detained the vehicle and occupants to investigate.
When the officers made contact with the driver they were told that DMV has been giving him the “run around” land that the plates should be in the mail. The officers couldn’t help the strong smell of Marijuana from inside of the car. The officers asked the driver if there was any Marijuana in the car and he said yes. The suspect then handed the officers three sandwich bags full of the green matter. The officers asked the driver if he was a Marijuana card holder, he said yes but could not produce one.
The officers continued their investigation and ultimately recovered a large amount of cash and cocaine! The suspect was arrested and booked for possession for sales. A simple double parking violation turns out to be a big drug arrest! Once again, you’re Ingleside Officers hard at work. Report number 120806491. So we will add this to the ***Best Arrest of the Day*** list!
