Arrests:

6:28pm                300 Blk Alpha St          Narcotics
Officers Tam and Hurwitz were working in plain clothes, patrolling in an area that is known for high narcotic activity.  The officers spotted a suspect crouched down in between two vehicles.  The officers stopped their vehicle and exited, making contact with the suspect.  The suspect was holding a glass pipe that the officers recognized as a pipe commonly used to ingest narcotics.  In his other hand, the suspect was holding a white, rock-like substance that the officers believed to be cocaine.  The suspect attempted to crush the cocaine in his hand and then dropped it to the ground directly beneath him.  The officers seized the cocaine from the street and the glass pipe as evidence and placed the suspect under arrest.  Report 120240071

7:13am                300 Blk Moscow St       Threats
Sgt. Miller was dispatched to a report of threats. The victim received a phone call from a blocked number.  The suspect left a message on the victim’s voicemail, threatening his life.  The victim did not recognize the voice, but had suspicions of who the suspect might be.  The victim wanted the incident documented because he feared for his life.  Report 120238719

12:45pm              1500 Blk Sunnydale      Burglary
Officers Peregoy and Hopkins responded to a report of a burglary.  The victim had left the residence secure and undamaged.  Upon her return, the victim noticed that the front door of the residence was unlocked.  The victim also noticed a broken window inside the residence.  The victim called the police and did not enter the residence.  The officers arrived and did a walkthrough of the residence ensuring that the suspect had fled.  Nothing was missing from inside the residence, but there were beer cans and a machete found that did not belong to the victim.  The officers seized the machete as evidence.  Report 120239303

1:38pm                300 Blk Monterey         Theft
Officer Bernard responded to a report of theft.  The victim had parked his scooter in a private parking area behind his residence.  Upon his return to the vehicle, the victim discovered his helmet was gone as well as the scooter’s battery.  A day later, a witness spotted a possible suspect in the area.  Report 120239513

4:05pm                Naples & Morse St        Theft
PSA Flynn took a report of theft from a vehicle.  The victim parked his vehicle but did not lock it.  The victim left his vehicle unattended.  Upon his return, the victim discovered that his messenger bag was missing.  The bag contained several personal items.  Report 120239751

6:11pm                Unit Blk Mansell St       Theft
Officers Yuen and Gonzalez were dispatched to a report of theft. The victim was standing at a bus stop, waiting for the bus.  The victim was holding her phone in her hand and looking down at it. The suspect approached her and quickly grabbed the phone from the victim’s hand.  The suspect fled.  Report 120240059

PSA Flynn took a report regarding false personation.  The victim received a notice from a collection agency regarding a past due account.  The victim had never authorized the opening of the account.  Report 120239864
