Arrests:

9:50am                 Unit Blk Tingley St                Assault
Officer Trujillo was dispatched to a report of an assault.  The victim told the officer that he had been struck in the back of the head with an unknown object.  The officer saw that the victim had some redness to the back of his head.  The officer contacted the suspect and took him into custody without further incident.  Report 110985124

                   Assault/Homicide
Officers Hermosura, Contreras and several other SFPD officers responded to assist SFFD with a combative suspect who had a knife.  SFFD Medics were attempting to revive an unconscious victim on scene.  The suspect stabbed himself in the neck with the knife just before advancing towards the fire crew in a threatening manner.  The crew was able to wrestle the knife from the suspect.  The officers responded to the scene and assisted the fire crew in getting the suspect strapped to a medic backboard.  The suspect was transported to SFGH for treatment of his wounds under the custody of the officers.  The victim succumbed to her injuries on scene.  Report 110987142

               Battery
Officer Ocreto was dispatched to a report of a battery.  Two victims were approached by the suspect.  The victims had prior verbal altercations with the suspect.  The suspect began to swing at the victims with a closed fist.  One victim was subsequently punched in the face but did not require medical treatment.  The suspect fled.  Report 110985867

10:00pm               400 Blk Leland Ave               Theft
Officers Benavidez and Jones responded to a report of theft.  The victim returned home to find that the door to his bedroom was ajar, even though he had closed it upon his departure.  The victim went into his room and discovered that some of his personal items were stolen.  The victim confronted the suspect, who admitted to the victim that he had taken the items.  The officers attempted to contact the suspects with negative results.  Report 110984596

Officers Contreras and Hermosura were dispatched to a report of arson.  SFFD had extinguished a fire that had been set to a vehicle.  The vehicle was towed for further investigation.  Report 110984358
