Arrests:

11:27am               Mission/Appleton             Assault
Officer Goldsborough and several other officers responded to a report of a shooting.  Dispatch advised the officer that a suspect was seen shooting into a vehicle.  The officers located a suspect that matched the description given by witnesses.  A victim was also located, but he was not injured.  The suspect was taken into custody.  Report 110952800  ***BEST ARREST OF THE DAY!!***

4:53pm                 Unit Blk Persia                Resisting
Officers Burke and Carrasco were on patrol when they spotted a suspect with a container that was possibly an alcoholic beverage.  The suspect saw the officers and attempted to conceal the container underneath his jacket.  The officers made contact with the suspect and confirmed that the container was alcohol.  The suspect became combative and took a fighting stance with the officers.  The officers attempted to handcuff the suspect, but he struggled in an attempt to evade officers.  The officers were finally able to handcuff the suspect.  He was cited for possession of an open alcoholic container and for delaying peace officer duties.  Report 110953591

2:00am                 Mission/Valencia            Battery
Officers McMilton and Morse responded to a report of a fight between two people.  The officers located a victim who had a bloody lip.  The victim refused to tell the officers what had happened.  The officers spotted a possible suspect fleeing the area, but were unable to detain her.  The victim refused medical attention.  Two other officers located the possible suspect.  The suspect refused to cooperate with the investigation.  She had no visible injuries.  Report 110954527

11:00am               5500 Blk Mission             Vandalism
CPSA’s Reynolds and Der were dispatched to a report of a possible burglary.  The victim showed the CPSA’s the lock on her residence door.  The lock had been damaged by an unknown suspect who shoved some object into the key hole.  No entry was ever made into the residence.  Report 110953206

11:15am               100 Blk Alemany             Assault
Officers Hart and Duffin responded to a report of a battery.  The victim sells items from a stand.  One of the items was a video camera.  A suspect approached the stand and picked up the camera.  The suspect began walking away from the stand without making any attempt to pay for the camera.  The victim went after the suspect and got the camera back from her.  The suspect punched the victim in the side of the face with a cane she was carrying.  The suspect fled.  The victim recognized the suspect from prior incidents where she attempted to steal from him.  Report 110952775

2:00pm                 Unit Blk Hearst              Trespassing
Sgt. Miller responded to a report of a trespasser.  The victim told the Sergeant that earlier in the morning she had called the police because she saw a suspect in her backyard.  The suspect fled prior to the officer’s arrival.  Later in the day, the victim located a machete on the driveway of her house that did not belong to her.  The Sergeant seized the machete.  Report 110953171

3:40pm                 McClaren Park              Theft
CPSA’s Der and Reynolds were dispatched to a report of theft from a vehicle.  The victims parked their vehicle and secured it.  The victims left on a walk, returning later.  When the victim’s returned, they discovered that a driver’s side window on their vehicle had been smashed.  Several items were stolen from inside the vehicle.  One victim said that she noticed an older vehicle parked when they left for their walk.  She said that there were three possible suspects in the vehicle that looked suspicious.  The vehicle and the possible suspects were gone when the victims returned to their vehicle.  Report 110953450

Officer Sugitan responded to a report of vandalism.  The victim left his residence and secured the door.  When he returned, he noticed small pry marks on the door trim and several dents in the door.  No entry was made into the residence.  Report 110953676
