Arrests:

12:10am              4900 Blk Mission St               Firearm
Officers McCall and Lozano were on patrol when they spotted a vehicle with expired registration tabs.  A records check revealed that the registration was in fact expired.  The officers conducted a traffic stop and advised the driver of the violation.  A second records check revealed that the driver had a suspended license.  The officers located two loaded firearms in the vehicle. The driver was not permitted to carry either weapon.  The driver was arrested.  Report 110830563

1:01am                1800 Blk Sunnydale Ave       Firearm
Officers Hauscarriague and Almaguer were on patrol when they heard several gun shots.  Several other officers responded to the area.  Off. Hauscarriague and Almaguer spotted a suspect running, and they gave chase. The officers caught up to the suspect and conducted a search for weapons.  The suspect had a handgun concealed in his sweatshirt front pocket, and he was placed under arrest.  The suspect is a known gang member and is on parole.  Report 110830803 ***BEST ARREST OF THE DAY!!!***

3:33am                Mission St & Silver Ave        Robbery
Officers Padilla and Benavidez were on patrol when they were flagged down by a victim who had just been robbed.  The victim pointed to his neck and told the officers that a suspect had just grabbed his chain from around his neck and was now walking away with it Northbound on Mission St.  The officers caught up with the suspect and detained him pending further investigation.  The victim positively identified the suspect and he was arrested.  Report 110831066

9:01am                100 Blk Judson Ave               Att. Homicide
Officer Curry was dispatched to a report of a fight involving a drill.  The victim and suspect got into an argument, which made the suspect extremely angry. The victim had an electric drill in his hand as he was trying to fix a doorknob in the residence.  The suspect grabbed the drill from the victim’s hand and pushed the victim into a bedroom.  The suspect forced the victim onto the bed, where he held the victim down.  The suspect told the victim, “I’m going to kill you” as he tried to drill the metal drill bit in the victim’s forehead.  The drill bit fell off, so the suspect began to hit the victim in the face with the drill.  The suspect finally let the victim up, who fled from the room.  The officers located the suspect and he was arrested.  The victim was transported to the hospital to treat his injuries.  Report 110831317

4:00pm                1600 Blk Sunnydale Ave       Warrant
Officers Barajas, Hart and Duffin were on patrol when they noticed a suspect who they knew was wanted for an outstanding warrant.  The officers contacted the suspect, who was arrested and booked for the warrant without further incident.  Report 110832462

4:35pm                200 Blk John F. Shelly          Air Gun
Officers Shugars and Paras responded to a report of a person with a rifle.  Numerous other SFPD officers also responded.  The two officers were flagged down by a witness who told them he had just seen a suspect walking and carrying what appeared to be a rifle.  Two other officers alerted dispatch that they had two possible suspect detained. One of the officers had witnessed one of the suspects carrying the rifle.  The rifle, which turned out to be an air rifle, was recovered and the suspect was arrested.  The second suspect was released.  Report 110832597

5:25pm                3300 Blk Mission St               Theft
Officers Murphy and Pedersen were dispatched to a report of a shoplifter.  The suspect had taken some laundry detergent off of the shelf and left the store, making no attempt to pay for it.  The suspect was apprehended by store security.  The suspect had no prior arrests for shoplifting so he was cited for misdemeanor theft.  Report 110832569

5:58pm                3200 Blk Mission St               Warrant
Officer Chew responded to a report of a suspect attempting to break a window.  The officer arrived and contacted the witness.  The witness said that the suspect had been aggressively asking for money, but did not attempt to break any windows.  The officer saw the suspect yelling at people as they walked by him.  The officer detained the suspect and conducted a records check.  The check revealed that the suspect was wanted on an outstanding warrant.  The suspect was arrested.  Report 110832735

10:30am              200 Blk Capistrano Ave        Phone Calls
Officers Pedersen and Murphy responded to a report of an argument.  The officers located the victim who told them she had received over 100 text messages and several phone calls from a suspect.  The victim thought that the suspect might have been outside of her home based on some of the messages.  The officers patrolled the area and were unable to locate the suspect.  Report 110831527

6:19pm                100 Blk Loehr St                    Pornography
Officers Burke and Kneuker responded to a report of child pornography found on a computer.  The witness told the officers his shop repairs computers.  One computer had taken the witness several weeks to repair.  When the witness was finally able to start the computer, he observed pictures of what appeared to be young girls naked.  Attempts were made to identify the computer’s owner.  The computer was seized as evidence.  Report 110832779

6:33pm                Unit Blk Brookdale Ave        Arson
Officers Obot and Johnson were dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire.  The officers arrived to find the SFFD putting out flames coming from a green vehicle.  The SFFD rendered the vehicle safe by extinguishing the fire.  There was indication that the fire was suspicious.  Report 110832729
         
9:29pm                Unit Blk Wilder St                 Robbery
Officers Cassinelli and Almaguer responded to a report of a robbery.  The victim was walking when two suspects came up behind her.  One suspect then stepped in front of the victim and punched her in the stomach.  The victim fell to the ground.  The second suspect reached into the victim’s pocket and took her money and ID.    The suspects fled.  The victim did not require medical treatment.  Report 110833012

9:48pm                800 Blk Geneva Ave              Robbery
Officers Habib and Pereira responded to a report of a group fighting.  The officers contacted a victim who had been robbed.  A group of about eight suspects had approached the victim.  One suspect asked the victim if he was in a gang.  Another asked the victim for his iPod.  The two suspects tried to hold him and take his iPod.  The victim attempted to flee and ran from the group.  The group of suspects caught up with the victim and pushed him down onto a bench on the sidewalk.  The victim was punched several times. The suspects took his iPod and baseball cap, and fled.  Report 110833307
