Arrests:

3:10pm               1700 Blk Sunnydale Ave    Warrant
Officers Obot and Johnson were on patrol when they saw a suspect they recognized from prior police contact.  The suspect also had an outstanding warrant.  The officers contacted the suspect and took him into custody.  Report 110234715

3:16pm               700 Blk London St              Narcotics
Officer Hauscarriague was on patrol when he noticed a suspect that he recognized from prior police contact. The officer also knew that the suspect had an outstanding warrant.  The officer approached the suspect who shut a metal gate between them.  The suspect told the officer that he couldn’t open the gate and would come out another door.  The officer knew that the suspect has fled on prior occasions and set up on the corner watching for him.  Shortly after, the officer saw a suspect fleeing.  The officer gave chase and found the suspect hiding behind a parked car.  The suspect was holding a glass pipe in his hand commonly used to ingest narcotics.  The officer took the suspect into custody.  The suspect was also in possession of narcotics for sale.  Report 110505578 ***BEST ARREST OF THE DAY!!***

9:21pm               Geneva & Cayuga Ave       Warrant
Sgt. Lozada and Officers Hom and Cassinelli were on patrol when they saw a vehicle with expired registration tags.  The officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.  A records check of the driver revealed that he had an outstanding warrant.  The driver was also in possession of a fake ID and a fraudulent credit card.  The driver was arrested.  Report 110506576

Officer Abucay and Smethurst responded to a report of an attempted burglary.  The victim claimed that a suspect had attempted to steal his vehicle.  The victim heard one of his garbage cans being knocked over, which prompted him to go outside. The victim discovered the door to his vehicle was open and the ignition inside the vehicle had been damaged.  Report 110505302

6:00am               200 Blk Naglee Ave         Theft
PSA Heckenberg-Tognozzi took a report regarding theft from a vehicle.  The victim locked his vehicle and left it.  When he returned, he found one of the passenger doors was unlocked and several items were taken from the vehicle.  Report 110504310

6:20am               Velasco & Schwerin         Theft
PSA Heckenberg-Tognozzi took a report of a theft from a vehicle.  The victim said one of the windows on his vehicle was smashed and several items were taken.  Report 110504122

9:00am               100 Blk Delano Ave          Theft
PSA Heckenberg-Tognozzi took a report regarding a theft.  The victim returned home to find that some flower baskets were taken from the front of his home.  Report 110504649

10:30am             1500 Blk Alemany Blvd      Vandalism
Officer Thompson took a report regarding vandalism to a vehicle.  The victim said that her vehicle had been vandalized several times.  She said numerous scratches have appeared on his vehicle and one of her tail lights had been broken.  Report 110505114

11:21am             Unit Blk Lippard Ave          Theft
Officers Martinez and Morgante responded to a report of a suspect breaking into a car.  The victim discovered several items were taken from his car.  Report 110504809

11:27am             100 Blk Appleton Ave         Graffiti
Officers Hart and Duffin took a report regarding graffiti.  A suspect had spray painted several words on the pavement.  Report 110504724

11:45am             200 Blk Staples Ave            Vandalism
PSA Heckenberg-Tognozzi took a report regarding vandalism to a vehicle.  The victim found his garbage cans pushed up against his vehicle, causing scratches.  The victim believes that he knows the suspect and has an ongoing feud with him.  Report 110501849

8:45pm               Paris & Italy St                     Assault
A victim reported that he was the victim of a carjacking.  The victim said five suspects approached him calling him by another name. The victim told the suspects that he had a different name, but the suspects grew angry and attacked him.  The suspects punched the victim several times and took his car key.  The suspects fled in the victim’s truck.  Report 110497022

11:07pm             3500 Blk Mission St            Battery
Officer Pedersen took a report regarding a battery and threats. The victim said a suspect threw a bloody rag in her face and punched her.  The suspect pulled out a metal pipe and swung it around in a threatening manner.  The suspect threatened to have the victim beat up.  The victim told the suspect she was going to call the police and the suspect fled.  Report 110506980
