12:46am Mission/Trumbull St Warrant Arrest
Officers Lozano and McCall were on patrol conducting speed enforcement. The officers were able to register the speed of the vehicle for going 15 miles over the speed limit. The officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and contacted the driver. A records check revealed that the driver had a suspended license and an outstanding warrant. Report 110402883
2:59am Unit Blk Cotter St Weapon
Officers Benavidez and Polovina responded to a call of shots fired. The officers located a suspicious vehicle parked with its headlights on. The officers approached the vehicle and it began to drive away. The officers made a traffic stop on the vehicle and contacted the driver. The officers immediately noticed a rifle lying on the floor in the back seat area of the vehicle. The officers detained the suspect and noticed that he smelled like alcohol. The suspect admitted to the officers that he had a rifle. The suspect had other symptoms of being intoxicated such as bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. The suspect was taken into custody. 7:35am 700 Blk Edinburgh Ave Interfering
Officer LaRocca responded to a report of a dispute. The reportee told the officer that he was attempting to tow a vehicle for excessive tickets. The suspect, who owns the vehicle, became irate when the reportee called for a tow truck. The suspect attempted to pull his vehicle off of the tow truck but was unsuccessful. The suspect then grabbed an unknown object and smashed all the windows of his vehicle. The suspect was arrested for interfering with a public officer. Report 110403289
10:22am 900 Blk Ellsworth St Assault w/knife
Officers Hart and Jones were dispatched to a report of a stabbing. The officers contacted a victim who had a laceration to her face. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. Witnesses stated that there was a fight between the suspect and the victim. The suspect cut the tires of the victim’s vehicle with a knife. The victim confronted the suspect who subsequently stabbed her in the face. The officers contacted the suspect, who turned herself in. Report 110403671
2:00pm 200 Blk Schwerin St Delaying
Lt. Vintero was on patrol when he noticed a vehicle with a flat tire. A records check revealed that the registration on the vehicle had been expired for over six months. The Lt. ordered a tow truck for the vehicle. When the tow truck driver arrived and began to put the vehicle on the truck, the owner of the vehicle emerged and began to yell obscenities. The suspect got into the vehicle with her small child and started the engine even though the vehicle was already hooked up to the tow truck. The suspect refused to get out of the vehicle. Several officers responded to assist. The officers were able to get the suspect out of the car and took the keys. The suspect shoved the Lt. and grabbed the keys. The suspect was detained and placed in handcuffs. The suspect was subsequently arrested for delaying peace officer duties. Report 110398351
3:51pm 100 Blk Tucker Ave Stolen vehicle
Officers Hurwitz and Dagget were on patrol when they saw a suspect that they recognized from prior police contact. The suspect was standing next to a vehicle. The officers knew that the suspect had several prior arrests for stealing cars. The officers attempted to talk with the suspect but she fled with two others into a residence. The owner of the residence told the officers that she did not give the suspect permission to enter her home. The officers searched the home and located the suspect. The suspect was in possession of shaved keys, which are commonly used to gain entry into vehicles. The vehicle that the suspect was standing next to did not belong to her. The officers contacted the registered owner who informed them that the vehicle was stolen. The officers searched the vehicle and found several items belonging to the suspect. 5:50pm Unit Blk Blythdale Ave Warrant Arrest
Officers McMilton and Burke responded to an address to attempt to locate a wanted suspect. The officers located the suspect and confirmed he had an outstanding warrant. The suspect was taken into custody. Report 081260908

PSA Heckenberg took a report regarding fraud. The victim stated that she received a letter regarding authorization for an online purchase. The victim did not make an online purchase and checked her account. The account was missing a little over one hundred dollars. Report 110403453

Officer Chang responded to a report of vandalism. The victim hung several items of clothing outside of the residence to dry after being laundered. The victim returned to take the clothes down and found all of them with multiple cuts in them. Report 110405360

Officers Araujo and Pai were dispatched regarding a home invasion burglary. The victims were awoken by suspects prying their door open. The suspects entered the residence and ransacked it. One victim was struck in the face by a suspect. The suspects fled with several stolen items. Report 110403405
3:00pm 200 Blk Staples Ave Fraud
PSA Heckenberg took a report regarding fraud. The victim stated that she noticed over a thousand dollars missing from her checking account. There was an unauthorized purchase made using her account information. Report 110403364

Officers Archilla and Pereira responded to a report of a theft. The victim stated that there were several items taken from a garage that he shares with other tenants of the building. Report 110401863
11:08pm 900 Blk Tompkins Ave Att. Robbery
Officers Jones and Ma responded to a report of an attempted robbery. The victim said he returned home with a few friends after having dinner. The victim was closing the gate behind him when he felt someone tug on it. The suspect yelled an obscenity at the victim and he turned around. The victim saw the suspect standing there holding a gun. The victim kicked the gate closed and ran inside. The suspect fled. Report 110402736
