Arrests:

10:00am           900 Blk Avalon Ave                     Burglary
Officers Morgante, Martinez, Johnson and Bernard responded to a report of a burglary.  A witness saw a suspect duck down behind a stair landing in front of a residence nearby.  The suspect had kicked the door of the residence trying to gain entry.  The officers attempted to make contact with the suspect who fled.  The officers gave chase as the suspect ran through several neighboring yards, damaging a fence in the process.  The officers caught the suspect hiding in a backyard.  The officers located a bag of green leafy material on the suspect’s person, suspected to be marijuana.  The suspect refused to give the officers his name and did not have any identification.  The suspect actively fought officers as they attempted to obtain a fingerprint to identify him.  The suspect was identified, but continued to resist officers as they placed him in the holding cell at Ingleside station, kicking an officer in the process.  Report 110383352 ***BEST ARREST OF THE DAY***

1:50pm             Unit Blk Pasadena Ave     Warrant Arrest
Officers Gabriel and Apodaca responded to a report of a fight.  The officers made contact with a suspect who they recognized from prior police contact. A records check revealed that the suspect had three outstanding warrants.  Report 100714159

3:50pm             Caesar Chavez/Pennsylvania      Warrant
Officers Paras and Archilla were on patrol when they noticed a passenger in a vehicle who was not wearing a seatbelt.  The officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.  A records check revealed that the driver had an outstanding warrant. Report 060972803

6:45pm             Geneva Ave/Moscow St     Warrant Arrest
Officers Shugars and Barajas were dispatched to a report of a person with a gun.  Witnesses stated that they saw a suspect grab another person in an attempt to rob them. The witnesses thought the suspect was holding a gun, but later realized it was a glass bottle.  They saw the suspect flee into Crocker Amazon Park.  The officers detained a suspect matching the description given by the witnesses.  A records check revealed that the suspect had an outstanding warrant.  Officer searched the area for a possible robbery victim with negative results.  Report 110384413

7:05pm            Unit Blk Santos St              Warrant  Arrest
Officers Dudley and Antonian were on patrol when they spotted a known suspect who had an outstanding warrant.  The officers confirmed the warrant and contacted the suspect who was taken into custody.  Report 110384407

2:33am           Geneva/Cayuga Ave           Evading Police
Officers McCall and Lozano were patrolling in a marked patrol car when they witnessed a vehicle run a stop sign.  The officers attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to yield. The officers noticed that the vehicle was swerving and unable to stay in one lane of traffic.  The officers believed the driver of the vehicle might possibly be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  The vehicle fled at unsafe speeds while continuing to run stop signs, so the officers terminated their pursuit.  Report 110385198

Officer Gomez was dispatched to a report of a theft from a vehicle.  The victim’s vehicle was missing its rims and tires.  Report 110384582

12:10pm       1200 Blk Ocean Ave                          Assault
Sgt. Miller was on patrol when a victim flagged him down regarding an assault.  The victim stated he was working a construction site and blocking traffic so that a construction truck could maneuver in the roadway.  The victim he was standing in front of a vehicle that suddenly accelerated.  The victim had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit.  A witness provided a license plate for the vehicle.  Report 110380693

2:45pm         Unit Blk Brookdale Ave                   Robbery
Officer Almaguer responded to a report of a robbery.  The victim invited the suspect into his home.  The suspect asked to use the victim’s phone, and he agreed.  The suspect told the victim that she was taking his phone.  The victim attempted to get his phone back from the suspect, but the suspect bit the victim and then pulled a knife out of her purse.  The suspect fled.  Report 110383528

6:00pm        100 Blk Holladay Ave                             Theft
PSA Flynn took a report regarding a theft from a vehicle.  The victim stated that the driver’s side window on his vehicle was smashed and there was damage to the trunk.  Several items were taken from the vehicle.  Report 110384560

10:00pm      900 Blk San Jose Ave                       Burglary
Officer Gomez responded to a report of a burglary. The victim’s bicycle was stolen from his garage.  Report 110384833
