Arrests:

4:10 pm     3300 Block Mission   Shoplifting
Officers Leong and Castillo were dispatched to investigate a shoplifting. They met with complainant who advised he was monitoring the store when he observed a suspect grab some beer from a shelf, walk to the back of the store and exit the premises without attempting to pay for the item.  Complainant said he followed the suspect outside, identified himself and detained the individual.  Complainant filed a citizen’s arrest and the suspect was cited for the offense.

8:32 pm     700 Bl Naples      Driving Under the Influence
Officers Daggett and Hurwitz were on patrol when they observed a gold vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign.  They affected a traffic stop and were advised by dispatch that the vehicle was possibly stolen.  The officers approached the vehicle with caution and had the driver exit the vehicle.  A search of the suspect turned up drug paraphernalia.  An additional record check on the vehicle revealed it was not stolen and the driver was cited for the traffic violation and paraphernalia.  Report number 110278264.  This is “The Best Arrest of the Day”

Officer Lundy was sent to a call regarding a theft from a vehicle.  The victim told him that she heard a loud noise in front of her home and noticed some people running down her street.  She stepped outside and noticed items from her parked vehicle were in the street.  She did not believe anything was missing from the vehicle and was unable to provide any additional description of the people she saw running away.  Report number 110278719.

2:00 am     2000 Block Castro     Theft from Vehicle
Victim called 311 to report a vehicle break in.  He stated he parked and secured his vehicle and when he returned noticed his GPS had been taken.  Report number 116043774.

2:00 am     300 Block Judson     Vehicle Vandalism
Victim called 311 to report a small window on his vehicle had been smashed.  Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle.  Report number 116043815.

8:00 am     800 Block Bosworth Vehicle Vandalism
Victim came to Ingleside Police Station to report vandalism to his vehicle.  He stated he parked and secured her vehicle and when he returned noticed scratches all over the vehicle.  There was no further information regarding any witnesses or suspects.  Report number 110277567.
10:00 am   Unit Block Phelan      Theft from Building
Officer Sanchez was on patrol in the City College area when he was dispatched to a building regarding a theft.  He spoke with the victim who told him that he had secured his things in a locker and when he returned noticed the lock had been broken into and various items were missing.  He did not have any further information to provide and there were no witnesses.  Report number 110276531.

11:00 am   5400 Block Mission   Theft from Building
Officer Thompson responded to a call regarding a theft.  Complainant advised that she was on her lunch break when she left the front office for a few minutes.  When she returned she noticed someone had come into the unlocked building and taken a computer.  She was unable to provide any further information and there were no witnesses.  Report number 110277222.

3:32 pm     Unit Block Martha      Annoying Phone Calls
Officer Castillo responded to a report of threats.  She spoke with complainant who said she has been receiving annoying phone calls for the past week.  She stated she believes it is someone who resides in her home and she is afraid at times.  An EPO was issued and she was provided with her copy and advised that it was not enforceable until it was served.  Report number 110278195.

3:58 pm     5400 Block Mission   Theft from Building
Officer Thompson responded to a call regarding a theft.  Complainant advise that one of her employees left the front office for a few minutes to go to the restroom.  When she returned she noticed someone had come into the unlocked building and taken a computer.  She was unable to provide any further information and there were no witnesses.  Report number 110277250.

5:30 pm     Mirabel/Coso              Theft from Vehicle
Officers Otaguro and Baldovino responded to a call regarding an auto boost.  A witness was driving by and noticed the suspect attempting to remove things from a parked vehicle.  The witness attempted to pull the item (bicycle) away from the suspect but the suspect removed the bicycle and rode down Maribel.  A record check of the vehicle returned with a possible address and the officers responded to the address and advised the victim of the theft.  The officers searched the area for the suspect to no avail.  Report number 110278797.

6:30 pm     Phelan/Ocean             Checks, Forgery
Officer Bermudez was dispatched to a bungalow at City College regarding items taken from a possibly unlocked vehicle.  He spoke with the victim who stated that a bag had been taken from her vehicle and she received a call from her bank regarding two checks which had been written without her consent.  The bank requested that she file a police report so that she would not be charged for the transactions.  Victim did not know the suspect and had no further information to provide.  Report number 110274858.

8:00 pm     200 Block Valdez       Att. Theft from Vehicle
Victim called 311 to report that he parked and secured his vehicle and when he returned to the vehicle noticed a window had been smashed.  He stated that the suspect had rummaged through the vehicle but doesn’t believe anything was taken.  He was unable to supply and further information on the suspect.  Report number 116043796.

10:00 pm  San Jose/Geneva      Battery
Officers Lundy and Hermosura responded to an assault.  They spoke with reportee who said he was waiting for a MUNI train when he asked an employee when the next train was to arrive.  He said the employee began to curse at him and closed the doors of train on him twice.  The muni employee responded back to the scene and explained to the officers that complainant was arguing with him and had actually closed a truck door on his leg.  Both victims wanted the other cited but agreed later to write statements and asked for follow up information to request a copy of the report.  Report number 110275420.

Officer Jones responded to a call of a theft.  Victim advised that someone who resides in the same home has been taking money from her for approximately a month.  Victim stated that she was aware the individual who resides there has a drug problem and believes she knows who has been taking the money but was unable to prove it.  Report number 110278684.

11:15 pm  San Jose/Geneva      Graffiti
Reportee called 311 to report that the muni yard had been vandalized with a black marker.  He had no further information to provide.  Report number 116043780.

11:30 pm  700 Block Mangels    Theft from Vehicle
Victim called 311 to report he parked and secured his vehicle and when he returned found a window had been smashed and an Ipod taken.  Victim could not provide any further information.  Report number 116043809.

11:40 pm  Unit Bl Onondaga      Robbery
Officer Jones responded to a robbery.  Victim stated she was walking on Onondaga when the suspect approached her, held up a knife and demanded money.  The victim said she had no money and the suspect took some food from a bag she was holding and walked away on Onondaga.  Victim was unsure if she could identify the suspect.  Officers searched the area unsuccessfully for the suspect.  Report number 110278640.
