11:20 am 300 Block Alemany Battery
Officers Curry and Sanchez responded to a verbal argument. They spoke with complainant who had purchased an item from a vendor who refused to give her any change. When she went to grab the money from the vendor complainant said he grabbed her and refused to let her go. They spoke with the alleged suspect who stated he attempted to call for help when an unknown male who claimed to be security grabbed him and tried to calm the situation down. At the insistence of one of the parties a citation was issued. Report number 110270806.
1:09 pm 300 Block Mission Battery
Officers Wilson and Murphy were on bicycle patrol when dispatched to a report of an assault. They spoke with complainant who stated that a customer came into the store to purchase some cereal and refused to wait in line behind other customers. Complainant felt that the woman was going to leave the area without paying for her items so attempted to grab the boxes of cereal from her. The woman then threw the boxes of cereal at complainant which caused a bruise to one of her hands. Witnesses at the scene reiterated what complainant told the officers. Officers searched the area for the suspect and detained someone fitting the description nearby. Complainant positively identified the suspect and she was taken into the custody after dispatch was able to confirm an active warrant. Report number 110271008.
9:45 pm Ocean & Phelan Driving Under Influence
Officers Edais and Flood, with the City College Police were on patrol when they observed a white van whose driver was behind the steering wheel with his head down and eyes shut. They attempted to draw the driver’s attention to them when the driver proceeded on Ocean Avenue and failed to stop for a red light. The officers affected a traffic stop and observed the driver’s eyes were watery and when they attempted to speak with him his speech was slurred. The officers had the driver exit the vehicle and conducted three field sobriety tests which the driver failed to complete satisfactorily. The driver was cited for the vehicle code violation as well as driving under the influence. Report number 110272357.

4:31 am 1000 Block Huron Robbery
Officers Kneuker and Benavidez responded to a call of a robbery. Complainant advised that he parked his vehicle near Mission Street and began walking down Huron when a suspect approached him from behind. Complainant said he felt something hard on his neck that he thought was a gun. The suspect asked him for money and began searching victim’s pockets when he removed several items from his person and then ran northbound on Huron. The officers searched the area for the suspect or anyone matching his description to no avail. Report number 110270191.
5:09 pm 800 Block Persia Vandalism
Officers Pedersen and Baldovino responded to an auto boost. They met with the owner of the vehicle who stated he awoke to notice an unknown person near his vehicle. When he went outside to see what was going on he said he noticed a pickup truck drive away and that there was damage to his exhaust system. Officers searched the area for the truck and the suspects but were unable to locate either. Report number 110270226.
12:00 pm Leland & Hahn Theft
Officer Lew responded to a call of a theft. Victim advised that she was in a motorized wheelchair due to her disability when she was approached by a suspect who approached her and grabbed her I-pad from her lap. Victim was unable to call for help due to her disability but believes she can identify the suspect if she were to see him again. Victim did not report the incident until later in the day (out of the district) and therefore officers were unable to search for the suspect. Report number 110271252.
5:20 pm 3900 Block Mission Vandalism
Officers Gonzalez and Gabriel responded to a call of a robbery. Victim advised that an individual she once dated was around her work when she left on today’s date. Victim said she took the bus home and when she exited the bus the same individual was present. Victim attempted to call the police from her cellular phone when the suspect approached her, grabbed the phone from her and threw it on the floor. The officers searched the area for the suspect but their attempts to locate him were unsuccessful. Report number 110271917.
10:55 pm 5000 Block Mission Breaking Windows
Officer Morse responded to a possible shots fired call. He spoke with the owner of an establishment who said he heard a loud bang and noticed a broken window in his business. Complainant stated that the suspect was standing near the window then proceeded to walk down Rolph Street. He said he lost sight of the suspect shortly thereafter but believes he could identify him. A search of the area for the suspect was unsuccessful. Report number 110272432.
