Arrests:

3:31 am     100 blk Flood              Robbery
Officer Otaguro was sent to investigate a robbery case. The victim told the officer that a known suspect came over and started an argument. After arguing for several minutes the suspect grabbed the victim’s phone and began struggle over it. At one point the victim fell because of the suspect’s efforts to take the phone. Once the suspect saw the fruits of their effort, the suspect fled the scene. While the officer was at the scene interviewing the victim the suspect showed up and was arrested. 11:35 am   500 blk Persia             Drug Arrest
Officer Bear was on patrol in the district when she noticed a van driving 45 to 50 MPH. the officer also observed the van drive thru the crosswalk while there were mothers with strollers and people crossing the street. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle and was finally able to numerous blocks away. The officer spoke to the driver and noticed that he was nervous and sweating on a rainy day. The driver told the officer that he was finishing his tour at work and had left his license in his car at work. The officer found out, via a computer check, that the driver had a suspended license. The officer got the driver out of the van and grabbed the suspect’s jacket to hand it to him and found that there was a "Crack Pipe". The officer asked the suspect if there were any drugs. The suspect told the officer that it was in his pocket. The officer located the drugs and the suspect was arrested for the suspended license, moving violations and drugs. Report number 110317771. 6:00 am     Unit blk Virginia          Attempted Mayhem
Officers Sanchez and Curry were sent to investigate an assault case. The victim told the officers that a friend came over and asked for a place to sleep. The victim allowed them to stay. The now suspect would not go to sleep and got up and went into the kitchen and got a knife with about a 6 to 8 inch blade. The suspect raised the knife and the victim thought that the suspect was going to cut something off. The victim ran out and called the police and the suspect ran off. Report number 110317016

11:46 am   400 blk Cortland        Dog Bite
Officers Curry and Sanchez were sent to investigate a dog bit incident.  The officers received a description of the dog and the person walking it. The officers located the dog and owner and learned that the dog was tied up outside a small market when a little girl ran up and pushed the dog. A witness told the owner of the dog that the little girl pushed the dog and the dog snipped at the girl. The owner of the dog notified the little girl’s mother and then started walking home. The officers located the girl and called an ambulance to check the girl. The girl’s mother responded and did not allow the medics to treat her daughter.  Report number 110317812

12:00 pm  Glen Park LRV stop   Theft from Person
Police Services Aide Cato prepared a report regarding a theft incident. The victim told the PSA that while seated on the LRV across from the driver she was robbed. The victim told the PSA that when the LRV came to a stop the suspect snatched the phone out of her hand and got off the LRV and ran. The video from the LRV was ordered for identification of the suspect. Report number 110318622

2:20 pm     San Jose/Ocean        Robbery
Officer Preston was sent to investigate a robbery case. The victim told the officer that while walking and looking at his iPad a suspect came up and tried to snatch tit from him. The suspect tried to sweep the victim to knock him down. The victim was able to reverse the sweep and knocked the suspect down. The victim then took that opportunity to escape. There was neither loss nor injuries. Report number 11038315

Officer Hopkins responded to investigate a theft case. The victim told the officer that she parked and locked her car only to discover that someone had broken a window and removed her property. Report number 110319567

5:30 pm     700 blk Naples           Battery
Officers Pereira and Gonzalez were sent to investigate a battery case. The victim told the officers that while at a friend’s house she asked to use the phone. The victim told the officers that when she inadvertently pushed the wrong button the owner of the phone got mad and hit her. Report number 110319056

8:05 pm     Bosworth/Lyell           Robbery
Officer Chan was sent to investigate a robbery that had just occurred. The victim told the officer that she had pulled out her iPhone to check what time the next bus was coming. The victim told the officer that two suspects ran up and took hold of her purse and phone. The suspects made off with the phone. Report number 110219432

Police Services Aide Cato prepared a report regarding a theft incident. The victim told the PSA that she parked and locked her car only to discover that someone had broken a window and removed her property. Report number 110918694

Officers Castillo and Campos were sent to investigate a vandalism incident. The victim told the officers that someone had damaged his fence with paint. The victim showed the officers where someone had written the word "Dots" in brown spray paint. Report number 110318650
