4:12 pm San Jose/30th Possession Assault Weapon
Officers Daggett and Padilla were sent to investigate a suspect that was brandishing a rifle at people. The officers were working undercover at the time. As the officers drove by the location, they observed a subject that matched the description of the suspect. The officers watched the suspect as he tried to hide by a fence. Because the officers able to maintain visual contact with the suspect they saw him take off a backpack and then pull a gun out and toss it over the fence. By this time officer Murphy had arrived on scene. The officers converged on the suspect with weapons drawn. The suspect took off running to avoid capture to no avail. The suspect was taken into custody a short distance away. The officers recovered an assault rifle with a scope. The suspect was arrested and booked for the charges. Report number 110315822. 7:20 am 1500 blk Treat Residential Burglary
Officers Archilla and Paras were sent to investigate a burglary incident. the victim told the officers that he left his residence and was gone for about ten hours. The victim told the officers that when he got home he discovered that back door ajar and a safety box had been moved. There was approximately $6000 worth of jewelry taken. The officers notified CSI to respond and process the scene. Report number 110316466
10:00 am Esquina/Geneva Theft from Auto
Officer Kabanuck prepared a report regarding a theft case. The victim told the officer that he parked and locked his car at the above mentioned location. The victim also told the officers that he had just purchased a gun and that he left it "hidden" in the car. The victim then told the officer that he walked over to the Cow Palace to attend the Gun Show. The victim was gone for a few hours and upon his return he discovered the front passenger door and his brand new hidden gun missing! Officer Kabanuck printed the car for evidence and was able to locate one possible print. Report number 110309950
12:00 pm 5000 blk Mission Fraud
Police Services Aide Zabarte prepared a report regarding a fraud case. The victim told the PSA that he was selling an engine on "Craig’s List" for $700. The victim told the officer that the suspect sent him a check for $3000 and asked to be sent the difference via Western Union. The victim told the PSA that as he was going to send the money; his bank notified him that the check he had deposited was fraudulent. The victim did not suffer any loss because of the fast action from his bank. The information was so that more people are aware of this kind of scam. Report number 110312919
12:00 pm 200 blk Rey Identity Theft
Police Services Aide Cato prepared a report regarding an identity theft. The victim told the PSA that an unknown suspect had stolen his identity. The victim told the PSA that he had lost his license a year ago and that he recently received notice at his mother’s house that his license was being suspected for drunk driving. The Vitim told the PSA that he even got a statement from an insurance company he does not use. Report number 110315963
8:15 pm 1500 blk Church Robbery
Officers Apodaca and Gabriel were sent to investigate a robbery incident. the victim told the officers that she was waiting for the bus and decided to check when the next one would be arriving on her phone. that is when an unknown suspect grabbed her purse that was on her shoulder. The suspect could not get the purse so he grabbed her phone and fled the area. Report number 110316472
6:10 pm San Jose/Geneva Robbery
Officers Pereira and Gonzalez were on patrol when they were flagged down by Daly City Police. The DC officers told SFPD officers that they were flagged down by a victim of a robbery. The officers interviewed the victim and were told that while waiting for the MUNI "J" line. The suspect grabbed her phone and fled. Report number 110316171
