07:59 am 385 Monterey Theft from Locked Vehicle
Sgt Escobar with Officers Rosiak and Smethurst responded to an auto boost that had just occurred. Sgt Escobar and Officer Rosiak located the described suspect and detained him. The witness positively identified the suspect and he was identified in another incident as well. The victims property was located in a back pack the suspect was wearing. He was transported to Ingleside Station where he was later booked. Report number 100991034
05:45 pm 3300 blk Mission Shoplifting/Battery
Officers Lim with Officers Leong and Conceicao responded to a security guard holding a shoplifter prisoner at a grocery store. The officers met with the guard who told them that he observed the suspect walk out of the store with several items for which he made no attempt to pay. The guard escorted the suspect to the back of the store and while there the suspect kicked the guard on the leg. The suspect was transported to Ingleside Station and later cited and released. An unknown suspect attempted to enter a portable construction building but was thwarted by the security bars on the window. The contractor noticed the attempted entry and called for the police. Officers Muro and Araujo responded and located latent fingerprints. Report number 100990860
03:45 am 2800 blk Diamond Shoplifting
A shoplifting suspect was seen in a grocery store and contacted by the store owner. The suspect had previously stolen a large amount of expensive liquor from the grocery store, but was not seen in possession of any stolen property on this date. Officers Ng and Hintzen searched the area for the suspect to no avail. Report number 100992474
06:01 pm Geneva/Moscow Theft, Other Property
Officers Kneuker and Shugars responded to a theft call. The officers met with the snack bar manager at Crocker Amazon Park who told the officers that three young African American males, 10-12 years old, ran up to the snack shack and one of the suspects reached through the window and grabbed a plastic jar containing about $15.00. The victim stated that the three suspects ran away together toward the skate park. Report number 100992703
06:09 pm 700 blk Geneva Robbery w/ Force
Officers Robinson and Pereira responded to a purse snatch call and searched for the suspect to no avail. The officers met with the victim who told them that an African American male, 28-30 years old, 5’8, 165 lbs, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, ran up behind her and grabbed her purse. She struggled with the suspect who overpowered her and knocked her to the ground. The suspect was then able to yank the purse from her grasp. The victim showed the officers that she suffered an abrasion to her knees from the fall. Report number 100992719
06:25 pm Geneva/Santos Theft from Person
PSA Knuckles was approached at Ingleside Station by a woman who told him that her purse had been stolen from her lap while seated on a Muni bus. The victim stated that she was seated next to the back door of a bus. When it came to a stop an African American male, 20-25 years old, 6’0, 175 lbs, with long dreadlock hair and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, suddenly grabbed her purse from her lap and ran off of the bus with two other African American males. The additional suspects were also wearing black hooded sweatshirts and were in the same age range. Report number 100993018
07:30 pm Unit blk Leland Battery
Officer Antonian and Dudley responded to a hospital and met with a victim who told them that he had been punched by an unknown suspect causing an injury. The victim stated that he exited a market and was immediately confronted by an unknown African American male, 30-35 years old, 6’2, 200 lbs, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and black/orange shoes who began to swing and punch at the victim. The suspect struck the victim several times causing the victim to fall to the ground. The suspect fled the scene and the victim went to the hospital. Report number 100993137
08:37 pm 200 blk Havelock Att Robbery w/ Gun
Officer Gomez met with an attempted robbery victim while Officers Leong and Conceicao searched the area for the suspect. The victim told the officer that she was walking from City College toward Edna when she saw three African American males at the corner. She had her cell phone in her hand as she approached them. One of the suspects demanded her phone while pointing a handgun at her. The victim screamed and one of the other suspects grabbed at her bag. Just then a car turned onto the street and the suspects fled into a sedan double parked across the street with a fourth suspect in the drivers seat. The vehicle then fled the area.
