Arrests:7:29pm 2200 Blk San Jose Battery/Under the InfluenceOfficers Van Zandt and Labson were dispatched to a battery call on the 2200 block of San Jose Avenue. A family member told the officers that they had just arrived home from a day of grocery shopping and were unloading their car, which was parked out in front from their home. The son said he briefly observed a male suspect making his way down the street walking in their direction. He said his mother stopped and allowed the suspect to walk past her. The suspect then started yelling slurs at her and then punched her in the face. The son quickly intervened and told the suspect he was calling the police. The son followed from a safe distance until Sgt. Ly arrived and took the suspect into custody. While in custody, the officers noticed that the suspect was heavily intoxicated and was being combative. The mother told the officers that she did not want to press charges against the suspect. Due to the suspects high level of intoxication he was taken to SFGH for treatment and released with a citation for resisting. Report Number: 170674442Serious Incidents:6:01pm 500 Blk Alemany Fatal AccidentA motorcycle collision was called in to dispatch by witnesses on the 500 block of Alemany Boulevard. Officers Calupad and Cortez Cedejas responded to the area just before the I-280 southbound on-ramp. Once there, they located the fallen motorcyclist and immediately started rendering aid until medics arrived. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries. A witness on scene told the officers that the motorcyclist was racing with another vehicle before it crashed. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with police investigators. The investigation is still on going.
