Arrests:
7:58am 1700 Blk Church Burglary
A call
of a burglary came into dispatch on the 1700 block of church Street at 7:58 in
the morning. Officer Gomez responded and spoke to the couple, who said that
while they were in their bedroom they overheard noises coming from the kitchen
area. The girlfriend became concerned and went to investigate. She was startled
when she saw a strange man, wearing a surgical mask with tattoos all over his
neck, crawling through the kitchen window. When the suspect saw the victim he
said, “I have keys. I’m supposed to be here.” The victim immediately yelled at
the suspect to get off their deck. The suspect crawled back out the window and
fled the area. The victim ran to the front of the house and kept an eye on the
suspect as her boyfriend called the police. The suspect quickly ducked into the
Upper Noe Recreation Center to hide. His action to stay hidden was thwarted
when a rec employee saw him hiding in the woman’s bathroom. Officer Gomez
waited for back-up to arrive before apprehending the suspect. During the
investigation it was revealed that the suspect also vandalized a laundromat as
he tried to burglarize the residence. The suspect was taken to Ingleside
Station where he was booked for the burglary. Report number: 170663768
Serious Incidents:
12:15am Unit Blk Foote Robbery
A resident was robbed at gun point as he casually stood out in
front of his home. The victim informed Officer Mroz and Dominguez that an
unknown suspect approached him and grabbed his jacket and demanded his
belongings or he would get shot. A second suspect then approached the victim
from another angle and pointed a silver revolver at the victim’s chest. Fearing
for his life, the victim allowed the suspects to take his wallet, cash, cell
phone and backpack. The suspects then fled the area with the victim’s property.

1:30pm 300 Blk Murray Theft
A report of a purse snatch in progress sent Officers Vong and
Aros along with other Ingleside units to the area of St. Mary’s Park. A witness
informed Officer Aros that she was at the park watching her kids play in the
playground. Her attention was quickly diverted to a subject who was acting
suspicious. She said the subject looked to be casing the playground. She then
saw the subject “Tippy Toe” towards another mother who was distracted watching
her kids play as well. The suspect quietly removed the purse which was
positioned behind the woman and walked away. The witness saw this and notified
the unsuspecting victim that her purse had just been stolen. A few other
witnesses in the area saw the suspect run away and provided the officer with a
description. A search of the area revealed negative results. Report number:
