Arrests:
5:53pm 200 Blk. Hahn Battery of a Police Officer
A
routine traffic stop turned into a tussle between an unlicensed driver and
Ingleside Officer Calupad. Calupad and his partner, Officer Cortez, spotted an
older Toyota Camry driving down the street without a front license plate. The
officers pulled the vehicle over and asked the woman driver for her license,
insurance, and registration. The driver became argumentative and refused to
supply any documents. The officers asked her to step out of the car, but
instead of complying with their request, she locked the doors and closed the
windows. After a lot of discussion, she agreed to unlock the door, but still
refused to leave the vehicle and actively struggled with Officer Calupad during
her arrest kicking him several times. A
record check revealed she was never issued a driver’s license. She was cited
for battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and driving without a
license and released at the scene. Report number: 170654676
8:08pm 200 Blk. Trumbull Warrant
Arrest
Two
officer’s intuition and experience led to the arrest of two suspected thieves.
Officers Burke and Anderson were on routine patrol when they spotted a man
standing outside a parked car with the driver’s side door open. Another man was
in the front passenger seat and a woman in the back. The officers decided to
run the vehicle plate, which revealed the 1995 Honda was stolen. Burke and
Anderson, called for assistance, and pulled their patrol car just as the driver,
male passenger started walking away from the stolen car but not before removing
several purses from the rear of the vehicle and placing them on the ground. Soon,
Ingleside Officers Van Zandt, Garza, Cortez, Calupad, and Foxworth arrived on
scene to help with the arrests. Both male suspects had several warrants for
their arrests. They also had a key ring with shaved keys used to steal and
drive vehicles, usually older Hondas. The officers also found a pipe used to
smoke methamphetamine. The five purses, (one Coach, three Calvin Kleins, and
one Marc Jacobs) all had price tags attached. Both men were arrested for a
variety of crimes and taken to Ingleside Station for booking. Report number:

Vehicle
Another
case of officer’s intuition resulted in another arrest of a vehicle thief and
the recovery of a car stolen in Oakland. On this night Ingleside officers Wong
and Salazar spotted an older Volvo SUV parked on the south side of Bernal
Heights Blvd. A computer check revealed the car was stolen from an address in
Oakland. Wong and Salazar radioed for assistance and soon a half dozen of their
Ingleside colleagues arrived on scene. The officers requested the driver and
four passengers exit the vehicle and they all did. The driver was arrested for
vehicle theft and his passengers were released at the scene. The vehicle owner
was called and traveled to San Francisco to retrieve his property. Report
