Blk. Mission Burglary
The New Year began with several Ingleside units dispatched
to a closed restaurant after a report of a burglar on the premises. Dispatch said that a witness had observed a
suspect breaking into the establishment through a window. The officers, from
the outside, could see the suspect running through the interior. A perimeter
was set up around the restaurant and the manager arrived who unlocked the
restaurant. Officers went inside and found trashed items on the floor as well
as a ceiling vent, leading to a crawl space, damaged and on the floor. Officers
could hear the suspect moving around in the crawl space. The officers announced
their presence and asked the suspect to come down and surrender. He didn’t
respond. A BART K-9 officer arrived and helped searched for the suspect. Soon,
thereafter, the officers heard a loud banging noise in the attic, by the
ventilation hood, and the suspect came crashing to the floor embarrassingly without
much of his clothing which got snagged on the ventilation hood. He was quickly
placed in custody and booked for burglary, vandalism, and other crimes. Report
