Arrests:

3:45pm       200 Blk Cortland                    Theft
A woman café patron was robbed of her laptop by a man who ran away to a waiting gold vehicle. This robbery may be related to a similar theft that occurred two days earlier at a Mission Street café mentioned in the Sept. 6, 2016 Ingleside Newsletter. Like the first case, witnesses and the victim said the man walked into the café, looked around a minute or two, and then suddenly grabbed the woman’s computer before fleeing. Ingleside Officers Zasly and Ortega responded to the café and asked dispatch to broadcast a description of the robbers and the escape vehicle. Shortly before midnight, Southern Station Officers Sherry and Alday were patrolling on 6th Street when they spotted the gold vehicle wanted in the two district thefts. Alday and Sherry stopped the vehicle and two of the three occupants quickly exited the car and ran away. Fortunately, both were quickly apprehended by other officers in the area and taken to Ingleside Station for booking. Report number: 160730098

4:19pm       100 Blk Shawnee                    Vehicle Burglary
An alert San Francisco Sheriff Department employee noticed four juveniles loitering around a parked Nissan. Thinking it was suspicious activity, the witness called police. However, as units traveled to the scene, the witness noticed one of the young men use and object to break into the Nissan and rummage around inside, before running away. The witness recalled 911 to update dispatch about the car break in. Ingleside Officers Siracusa and Quinlan, along with other Ingleside units, started searching the neighborhood for the suspects and found them walking on Ottawa near Delano. All four were detained and the witness positively identified one of them as the youngster who broke into the car. He was cited for theft and released to his parents. The other three juveniles were released to their parents. Report number: 160730139
