07:50pm     Unit Blk Mirabel                    Hot Prowl Burglary

An alert neighbor helped nab two hot prowl burglars. The neighbor told Officers Rodriguez and Hawkins that he was walking to his car, which was parked across the street, when he noticed two suspicious men entering his neighbor’s garage. The men, upon seeing the neighbor, quickly closed the garage door behind them. The neighbor said he had never seen these men in the neighborhood and was concerned. The neighbor then quickly notifed the homeowner about what he had seen. Once the homeowner was notified, he and the neighbor went into the garage and confronted the two burglars. They tried to keep the burglars cornered while they called the police, but the two suspects managed to escape from the garage. Another neighbor saw what was happening and detained one of the suspect in front of the home, while the second escaped on foot. The homeowner and the first neighbor followed the suspect from a distance and flagged the officers as they were en-route to the burglary call. The officers stopped their patrol vehicle and took the suspect into custody. A second Ingleside unit arrived at the residence and took the other suspect into custody. A search of their person revealed items that belonged to the homeowner. Both suspects were transported to Ingleside Station and charged with the burglary. Report Number: 160606342
