Hit & Run
A woman was stopped at a red light at Mission & 19th
when another vehicle, traveling in the same direction, veered into the side of
her car. The other driver, instead of stopping, sped ahead with the victim in
pursuit attempting to write down the vehicle’s license plate number. Both
vehicles stopped and the hit and run driver placed his car in reverse and
backed into the pursuing victim before speeding away. A short time later,
witnesses called police to report that a truck had struck a tree at Valencia
and Mission Streets and was too damaged to move. The driver was standing besides
the vehicle. Ingleside Officers Stark and Hermosura arrived on scene and the
driver claimed he was only a passenger and the real driver left the scene.
However, witnesses and the victim identified the inebriated motorist as the driver.
He failed a roadside sobriety test and was taken to Mission Station for a blood
alcohol test. After the test he was booked at the county jail for hit & run
and D.U.I. Report number: 160025281
8:40am Rey/Visitacion Stolen Vehicle
Ingleside Officer Hauscarriague was on routine patrol
responding to a report of a stolen Nissan. While in route, he spotted a man who
had previously escaped his custody. The officers put out a call for assistance
and several Ingleside units sped to the scene, including Ingleside Officers
Chang and Wong. The suspect was placed in custody and a search discovered
narcotics, narcotics paraphernalia, and several tools used to steal cars. He
had arrest warrants for car theft and burglary. Nearby, the officers located
the stolen Nissan that had also been damaged in a recent hit and run accident.
The suspect was booked for auto theft, hit & run, and the warrants. Report
