Arrests:

10:05am     1600Blk Valencia                            Firearm
Officer Aslam was dispatched to a business after a woman employee told her boss she was followed while on her way to work. Upon arrival, officer Aslam broadcast the suspect’s description, and then started searching the surrounding area for the suspect. He soon found him walking about a block away from the business. The suspect was stopped and questioned by Officer Aslam and several other Ingleside units and he admitted following the woman, whom he previously dated, to get his phone back. During a cursory search of the suspect, officers located a firearm in his waistband. The man told officers that the gun “was for his protection”. He was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for a firearms violation and for being a paroled felon in possession of a firearm. The victim filed for and was granted an emergency protective order against the suspect. Report number: 130611967

1:36pm       Sunnydale/Hahn                             Warrant
Officers Obot and Johnson were on routine patrol when they noticed a man who had a warrant for his arrest. They watched as the man walked into a corner store and then exited the store a short time later. He was pushing a stroller with a baby inside and was accompanied by woman. The officers approached the suspect and asked him to sit down on the sidewalk while they confirmed the warrant. The man agreed and when the warrant was confirmed and the officers attempted to handcuff the suspect, he ran away. Both officers chased the suspect and caught him a short time later. When they again attempted to place him in handcuffs he violently struggled with the officers and yelled at them, “take these cuffs off of me”. Soon a large crowd began to gather around the officers and they quickly radioed for assistance. Within a few minutes several other Ingleside units arrived and the suspect was placed under arrest without further problems. Case number: 130612658

4:17pm       4900 Blk Mission                             Robbery
Dispatch sent Ingleside officers Paras and Chicas to a grocery where the store’s security officer reported someone robbed the establishment of liquor and food. When the officers arrived at the crime scene, the guard told them he noticed the man grabbing items off the shelf and placing them in a shopping cart and then taking the items from the cart and hiding them in his clothing. When the man walked out of the store without paying he was confronted by the guard who tried to detain him. The suspect punched the guard in the face and then ran across the street and boarded a #14 Mission Muni bus. The officers got back in their patrol car and traveled southbound on Mission until they found the bus stopped at an intersection. The suspect was not on the bus, but he was discovered sitting in a nearby laundromat with the stolen items. He was arrested and transported back to Ingleside Station and booked for robbery and other charges. Report number: 130613076
