Arrests:

6:43am       300 Blk Precita                     Theft
Officers Curry and Sanchez were called to investigate someone who was trying to steal a bicycle.   They located a female matching the suspect description who was attempting to cut a lock off of a mountain bike.  While they detained the suspect the 911 caller approached them and identified the woman as the person she had seen cutting the lock on the bike.  A record check revealed the suspect had a no bail warrant for her arrest and the bicycle she was trying to cut the lock off of was stolen.  The suspect was transported to Ingleside station and booked for the warrant and the attempted theft.

Officers took pictures of the bicycle and damaged lock.  Through pictures and identifying features on the bicycle, they were able to locate the owner.  The owner told them the bicycle belonged to her son and that it had been stolen earlier in the week.  The victim said she would respond to Ingleside station to pick up the bicycle later that day.  Officers booked the photos into evidence.  Report number 120765427

12:15pm     Portola/O’Shaughnessy         Agg. Assault
Sgt. Lozada was on patrol when he was flagged down by a citizen regarding an assault.  The citizen was in the company of several passengers who were in his vehicle.  They told Sgt. Lozada that a vehicle began honking at them because he was driving too slow.  The suspect vehicle then rammed the victim’s vehicle from behind several times.  The driver of the suspect vehicle exited the vehicle and began yelling at the victim.  A second suspect exited the suspect vehicle yelling as well.  Both suspects proceeded to punch and kick the victim.  The suspects then boarded their vehicle and drove away.  The victim had visible swelling and an ambulance was summoned to tend to him medically.

The officers dispatched a description of the suspect vehicle and the license plate provided by the victims.  A record check revealed the vehicle was registered in a nearby city.  The victims said they could probably recognize the suspects and the vehicle.  While interviewing the victims, the police department of the city the suspect vehicle was registered to contacted Sgt. Lozada to tell him they had the vehicle and its occupants detained.  The victims were transported to the location where the suspects were detained where they identified the suspects and the vehicle.  The suspects were transported to Ingleside station where one was cited and the other booked for the assault.  The suspect vehicle was towed to the police department for investigative purposes as there was visible damage to the front end where it possibly rammed the victim’s vehicle.  Report number 120766328. Because of their attention to procedures the officers were able to apprehend the suspects that had already fled the scene with the assistance of a neighboring jurisdiction!  That is why this is, ***The Best arrest of the Day***
