Arrests:

12:00pm     100 blk Day                  Burglary Arrest
Officer Fung and several other Ingleside officers responded to a possible burglary in progress.  Dispatch provided a description of the suspect for units responding. While responding to the burglary an Ingleside unit spotted a possible suspect fitting the description so he was detained not too far from where the initial incident occurred. The officers picked up the witness in order to conduct a cold show with the detained subject. The witness told the officers that the suspect they had was the one she had called about. The witness told the officers that she ran into the suspect in a shared garage area of her home and knew that he was not a tenant in the building.

The officers questioned the suspect who told them that he was on active probation.  A record check confirmed his probationary status.  The officers searched the suspect and located several burglary tools inside of a backpack he was carrying. Because the suspect is on probation he is prohibited to carry these kinds of tools. The suspect was arrested and transported to Ingleside station.

Officers returned to the apartment building to continue their initial investigation. The officers met with the victim that showed them pry marks on a door and that tape had been removed from the lock guard area.  Officers took pictures of the damage to the door and booked them as evidence.  The suspect was booked at the instruction of Sgt. Inocencio.  Report Number 12082558. Because of the fast response of officers and attention to details, this burglar was apprehended just a few blocks from the crime scene with burglary tools still in his possession! That’s why this is ***The Best Arrest of the Day***
