12:18pm     300 Blk Edinburgh St            D.U.I.
Officers Chang and Park responded to a call of a fight involving a suspect who was reportedly drunk.  The witness told dispatch that the suspect had parked his car, blocking the witnesses’ driveway.  The officers arrived and contacted the suspect, who was seated in his car with the window open.  The officers could immediately smell alcohol emanating from inside the vehicle.  The suspect repeated several times that he wasn’t driving.  The suspect’s speech was slurred and eyes were bloodshot. The suspect handed the officers an ID.  A records check revealed that the suspect’s driver’s license had been suspended from a prior drunk driving arrest.  The witness told the officers that she came out of her residence and found that the suspect was blocking her driveway with his vehicle.  The witness asked the suspect to move. The suspect drove away, did a u-turn, and returned to the front of her residence, where he parked a second time blocking the driveway.  The officers believed that the suspect was drunk and asked him to exit his vehicle.  The suspect exited the vehicle and was unable to stand on his own, leaning on his vehicle for support.  The officers arrested the suspect for driving while under the influence of alcohol.  Report 120493054

6:02pm       Geneva & Naples St             Aggravated Assault

Officers Almaguer and Barajas responded to a report of a robbery.  Dispatch advised the officers that the victim was last seen following the suspect.  The officers arrived on scene and spotted an individual, later identified as the victim, walking closely to a second individual, later identified as the suspect.  The officers detained both subjects.  The victim told the officers that he had been waiting for the MUNI when he was approached by the suspect.  The suspect asked the victim what property he had on him.  The victim told the suspect that he didn’t have anything to give. The suspect suddenly pushed him and grabbed him in a choke hold.  The suspect reached into the victim’s pockets and removed his iPod, cash and cell phone.  The victim feared for his life so he didn’t struggle with the suspect.  The suspect let the victim go, and he ran across the street to tell a witness that he had been robbed.  The victim kept an eye on the suspect and followed him as he left the scene.
