Arrests:

4:14pm       4700 Blk Mission          Warrant
Officers Lim and Chew were working bike patrol on Mission Street when they observed a male drinking out of a brown paper bag.  One of the officers observed that the can inside was labeled “Steel Reserve” which is an alcoholic beverage.  The officers approached the male and noticed the can was open.  They explained to the suspect that it was illegal to drink alcohol in public and the suspect told them that he didn’t care.  The suspect was unable to provide any proof of identification and became combative with the officers.  He was placed in handcuffs and transported to Ingleside station pending further investigation. 

At Ingleside station, the suspect was identified through the SFPD’s fingerprint system.  A record check revealed an outstanding warrant and he was booked at Ingleside station upon confirmation of the warrant.  Report Number 120084318

11:45pm     4900 Blk Mission          Trespassing
Officers McMilton and Morse responded to the call of a habitual trespasser.  Upon their arrival, they spoke with reportee who said that he observed a known suspect enter the store, place several items inside his coat and walk toward the front of the store as if he were going to leave without paying for the items.  Before he exited the store the reportee and other employees detained him and called the police.  The officers were advised by the reportee that the suspect had been repeatedly told not to return to the store because he frequently steals items and has been cited for the thefts in the past.  The suspect confirmed with the officers that he had been advised not return to the store because he was not welcome there.  The reportee signed a citizen’s arrest and the suspect was cited for trespassing and released at the scene.  Report Number 120085156

7:00am       100 Blk Richland          Burglary
Officers Castillo and Leong were dispatched to a burglary.  They met with the victim who told them that he locked and secured his home and when he returned found his front door open.  The victim entered the home and found the window in the kitchen had also been opened and several items were missing.  The suspect(s) had attempted to dismount a television from the wall but were unsuccessful.  The officers’ investigation determined the window in the kitchen was the point of entry and the front door the point of exit.  They were unable to find any other sign of forced entry.  The officers located fingerprints on the television which the suspects had attempted to dismount and SFPD’s Crime Scene Investigation Team was notified to respond and process the scene for evidence.  The victim provided the officers with several photographs of the missing items and they booked the pictures into evidence at Ingleside station.  The victim was provided with follow up information and an additional loss form.  Report Number 120084794

9:00am       200 Blk Rey                  Burglary
Officers Carrasco and Burke were sent to a burglary report.  They met with the victim who advised them he locked and secured his home and when he returned found the back door had been broken and the dead bolt lock was hanging.  The officers immediately determined this area to be the point of entry as there was no other sign of forced entry.  The victim provided the officers with a list of several items which had been taken and told the officers that he and his family had rummaged through the home and touched most of the doorknobs and areas that may have been touched by the suspect(s).  The officers searched the home for any other evidence with negative results.  They therefore did not notify SFPDs Crime Investigative Team to respond.  They provided the victim with follow up information and an additional loss form should he find any additional items missing in the future.

The officers spoke with several neighbors who did not see or hear anything.  They made contact with the manager who told him he had reviewed the video surveillance footage which did not capture any video evidence that was visible.  Report Number 120084415

11:40am     100 Blk Blythdale        Theft
Officers Peregoy, Trail and Hopkins were on patrol in the Sunnydale Housing Projects when they were dispatched to investigate a theft.  The victim advised that they had mounted their vehicle on jacks and left to purchase new tires for the vehicle.  When they returned the jacks had been taken.  The victim said she did not see any one take the jacks and there were no witnesses.  Report Number 120083279

2:30pm       2100 Blk Sunnydale     Theft
A victim came to Ingleside station and told PSA Cato that he parked and secured his vehicle and when he returned found several windows smashed and items missing.  He said he did not see anyone break into the vehicle and there were no witnesses.  PSA Cato processed the vehicle for any fingerprint evidence with negative results.  She provided the victim with follow up information for insurance purposes at his request.  Report Number 120084487

2:30pm       Santos/Brookdale         Theft
Officers Peregoy, Trail and Hopkins were on patrol in the Sunnydale Housing Projects when they were flagged down by a MUNI bus driver.  The driver told them that one of the passengers on the bus had just been robbed.  The officers spoke with the victim who stated she was listening to her Ipod when an unknown male sat next to her.  When the bus came to a stop, the suspect grabbed her Ipod and exited promptly through the rear doors of the bus.  A witness who was sitting in front of the victim said that he observed the incident and that he would be identify the suspect if he saw him again.  The officers advised dispatch of the suspect’s description and several officers searched the area unsuccessfully for him.  They provided the victim with follow up information and contact MUNI dispatch to order a copy of the MUNI surveillance video.  Report Number 120083768

5:00pm       Congdon/Silver             Theft
A victim came to Ingleside station and told PSA Zabarte that he locked and secured his vehicle and when he returned found his sliding door broken and several items missing.  He said he did not see anyone enter the vehicle and there were no witnesses.  PSA Zabarte processed the vehicle and recovered a latent fingerprint.  He provided the victim with follow up information and booked the evidence at Ingleside station for crime scene analysis.  Report Number 120083144

7:00pm       1700 Blk San Jose         Theft
A victim came to Ingleside station and told PSA Zabarte that she locked and secured her vehicle and when she returned found several items missing.  She said that there was no sign of forced entry into the vehicle but that a flashlight had been left inside which did not belong to her.  PSA Zabarte processed the vehicle and flashlight for any evidence to no avail.  He provided the victim with follow up information and booked the flashlight into evidence at Ingleside station.  Report Number 120083611

7:30pm       300 Blk Delano             Vandalism
A victim came to Ingleside station and told PSA Cato that he locked and secured his vehicle and when he returned found it had been vandalized.  PSA Cato inspected the vehicle and took pictures of the damage which she booked into evidence at Ingleside station.  She provided the victim with follow up information.  Report Number 120084368

9:00pm       200 Blk Leland             Burglary
Officers LaRocca and Muro were dispatched to a burglary.  They met with the reportee who stated that when his employee arrived for work this morning the alarm was activated and she shut it off.  She then began working when she noticed a window had been smashed and there was a brick lying on the floor.  She then contacted the reportee who responded and also found various items were missing.  The officers determined the point of entry to be through the smashed window as they were unable to locate any other sign of forced entry.  The officers located items with visible fingerprints and contacted SFPD’s Crime Scene Investigations Unit to respond and process the scene.  Officer Muro took photos of the damages and the brick which he booked into evidence at Ingleside station.  Report Number 120082550
