Arrests:

1:32am                Bayshore & Blaken                Firearm
Officers Almaguer and Hauscarriague were on patrol when they spotted a known suspect.  The officers stopped the vehicle next to the suspect and asked if they could talk to him.  The suspect began to back away from the officers and then turned and fled.  The officers gave chase for several minutes.  During the chase, one of the officers heard a “clank” sound as if metal had hit pavement.  The suspect continued to run as several other officers responded to the scene.  The suspect was apprehended and transported to the station.  The officers retraced the steps of where the suspect ran and recovered a loaded handgun.  The suspect was booked on charges of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, among other charges.  Report 110852119 ***BEST ARREST OF THE DAY!***

1:21pm                300 Blk Banks St                     Warrant
Officer Padilla responded to a call regarding a wanted person.  The suspect had called dispatch and wanted to turn himself in.  The suspect identified himself to the officer upon his arrival.  The suspect was booked on the outstanding warrant.  Report 110853082

5:15pm                5300 Blk Diamond Hghts       Battery
Officers Leong and Castillo were dispatched to a report of a battery.  The officers contacted an individual who matched the description of the suspect provided to them by the 911 caller.  The suspect was heavily intoxicated.  The suspect was angry that the officers had detained him, and threw his cell phone down onto the ground causing it to break.  The officers located the victim who stated that the suspect had been angry and threw a glass bottle, causing it to break.  Some of the glass bounced up from the ground and hit the victim in the mouth, causing a small cut.  The victim did not want to press charges against the suspect regarding the battery.  The suspect was arrested for being under the influence of alcohol in public.  Report 110853725

9:45pm                900 Blk Ellsworth St              Warrant
Officers Phillips and Hopkins were on foot patrol when they spotted a wanted suspect.  The officers approached the suspect and took him into custody without further incident.  Report 110463998

10:46pm              400 Blk Geneva Ave               Resisting
Officers Carrasco and Burke responded to a report of a fight in the BART station.  The officers located a victim who was speaking with a BART PD officer.  The suspect said he was approached by a suspect who starting hitting him for no reason.  As the officers spoke with the victim, a witness ran up telling them that the suspect was in another location walking around hitting people.  The officers responded to the area and contacted the suspect.  He smelled strongly of alcohol and was yelling but slurring his words.  The officers attempted to detain the suspect who was combative and attempted to pull his body away from the officers.  The suspect was taken into custody after a brief struggle.  The suspect had bloody knuckles as if he had been punching things.  The victim refused to press charges regarding the battery.  The suspect was arrested for resisting arrest and for being drunk in public.  Report 110854438

12:01am              1900 Blk Sunnydale                Assault
Officers Seavey and Benavidez were dispatched to a report of a male being assaulted.  Upon arrival, they did not see anyone fighting or fleeing from the area.  They were soon alerted to a male who was lying on the ground nearby.  The officers located the victim who was unconscious, but breathing.  The victim had a cut on his hip and other injuries.  The officers were unable to locate any identification on the victim.  An ambulance was summoned, and the victim was transported to the hospital.  The officers were unable to locate any witnesses. The hospital informed the officers that the victim was highly intoxicated and suffered facial trauma, but would recover.  Report 110854557

3:54am                Mission & Silver                     Graffiti
Officers Dominguez and Otaguro responded to a report of graffiti.  The officers contacted two possible suspects sitting at the MUNI bus shelter.  One of the suspects had red paint on his hands, matching the fresh red paint on the walls of the bus shelter.  The suspect denied any involvement in the graffiti.  The officers also located fresh red paint on a nearby wall.  The officers were unable to locate witnesses to the incident, so the two suspects were identified and released.  Report 110855022

Officers LaRocca and Muro were dispatched to a report of vandalism.  The victim returned to her vehicle and found that her windshield was smashed.  There was also a dent in the vehicle’s roof in the shape of a foot.  Report 110852410

12:00pm              300 Blk Surrey St                   Graffiti
Sgt. Miller responded to a report of graffiti.  The victim showed the Sgt. fresh graffiti on her garage door that was approximately 6” tall.  Report 110853101

1:14pm                200 Blk Rey St                        Shooting
Officers Trail, Hopkins and Phillips were on patrol when they heard several gunshots nearby.  The officers searched the area for victims but did not find any.  Although there were several people in the area, they provided the officers little information regarding the possible suspect and also refused to identify themselves.  Officers located spent casings, which were collected as evidence.  Report 110852993

5:00pm                Brazil & McLaren                 Theft
PSA Flynn took a report regarding theft from a vehicle. The victim said she parked her vehicle and concealed her purse underneath the front seat of the vehicle.  She then left her vehicle so she could go walk her dogs through the park. Upon her return, the victim discovered her purse was missing although there was no apparent damage to the vehicle.  Report 110854068  

11:05pm              Edinburgh & Amazon           Robbery
Officers Benavidez and Seavey responded to a report of a robbery.  The victim had been walking with his friend when they realized that they were being followed by three suspects.  One of the suspects asked the victim what time it was.  The victim and his friend continued to walk, ignoring the suspect.  The suspects then surrounded the victim and told him to give them what was in his pockets. The victim was in fear so he held his hands up so that the suspects could go through his pockets.  One suspect took his cell phone out of his pocket, and fled with the other two.  Report 110854422
