Arrests:

7:25am               1100 Blk Cayuga Ave             Counterfeit
Officers Hauscarriague and Almaguer responded to an address possibly related to a counterfeit operation.  The officers were joined by some federal agents.  The officers made contact with the suspect who was ultimately taken into custody.  Report 110681043

8:54am               5000 Blk Mission St               Arson
Officers Turner and Trujillo responded to a report of a man with a knife.  Upon approach, the officers saw a subject flee.  Several other officers arriving to the scene located the subject and detained him.  A witness told the officers that they saw a suspect using a knife to try to pry open a door.  The suspect then attempted to light the door on fire. The subject detained by the officers was identified as the suspect with the knife.  The suspect also had an outstanding warrant.  The officers took the suspect into custody.  Report 110681231 ***BEST ARREST OF THE DAY***

PSA Heckenberg-Tognozzi took a report from a victim regarding theft from a vehicle. The victim had left his laptop in his vehicle and secured it.  The victim returned to his vehicle and found the window had been smashed and the laptop stolen.  Report 110681350

9:20am               200 Blk Crescent Ave           Phone Calls
PSA Heckenberg-Tognozzi took a report regarding suspicious phone calls.  The victim received several phone calls from a suspect claiming to be his cousin.  The suspect claimed he had been arrested and that he needed the victim to talk to the officers.  The victim did not recognize the voice as his cousins.  The suspect called the victim several times.  Report 110681689

10:52am             300 Blk Cortland Ave           Theft
Officer Bernard was dispatched to a report of a theft.  The victim was doing laundry inside a public laundromat.  The victim plugged her cell phone into an outlet to charge it and concealed it with a box.  The victim saw the suspect near where her cell phone was plugged in and realized it was missing.  The victim confronted the suspect who denied taking her phone.  The suspect fled.  Report 110681639   

2:00pm               Unit Blk Phelan Ave             Theft
SFCCPD Hakes took a report regarding a theft from a building.  The victim had put her cell phone in a locker and secured it with a pad lock.  The victim returned and found the pad lock had been cut and her cell phone stolen.  Report 110676408

7:52pm               200 Blk Yerba Buena Ave   Theft
Officer Gomez responded to a report of an attempted purse snatch.  The victim had been walking home when a suspect approached her.  The suspect grabbed the victim’s purse and attempted to flee.  The victim struggled with the suspect over her purse as she yelled for help. A witness appeared on the scene.  The suspect let the purse go and fled.  Report 110683118
