11:11am     300 Blk. La Grande                 Robbery

 A robbery investigation led to the identity of one of the suspects involved. Sergeants Hurley and Do, along with officers Naval and Morrow went to June Jordan High School to arrest a young woman who was a suspect in the earlier robbery. School officials identified the suspect and she was taken into custody and transported to the Juvenile Justice Center for booking. Report number: 170912236

A Muni passenger called police to report a theft. The victim told Ingleside Officers Cuadro and Drago that she was standing in the aisle of a #29 Muni bus when she felt someone pulling her IPhone out of her back pocket. She turned around in enough time to see the woman thief running off the bus and into Crocker-Amazon Park with her phone. Report number: 170937080

4:12pm       Mission & Cortland               Theft/Pickpocket

Another Muni passenger lost her IPhone to a pickpocket thief as well. This victim told Ingleside Officers Tupper and Foxworth that she and her friends were exiting a #14 bus in front of a group of young girls when she felt a hand going into her jacket pocket. The victim turned and accused the group of taking her IPhone. The suspects yelled back at the victim then ran across the street taunting the victim saying, “Ha Ha, I’ve got your phone”. The suspects then boarded a #24 Muni bus and escaped. Report number: 170937171

A parking dispute resulted in one of the combatants suffering a head wound. The victim told Ingleside Officers Alejandrino and Aros that he was parking his work truck in front of a customer’s address. The Gold Infinity in front of him was partially in the truck’s parking space, but the truck driver was able to squeeze into the space. However, the Infinity driver became irate and got out of the car and accused the victim of parking too close. The suspect then attempted to open the victim’s driver door and during the struggle, broke the side mirror, dropping it on the ground. The victim got out of his truck and the suspect picked up the mirror and threw it at the truck. The mirror ricocheted off the truck and struck the victim in the forehead causing a large golf sized contusion. Alejandro and Aros called for medical help and the driver was treated at the scene. A report of a fight prompted dispatch to send Ingleside Officers Anton and Mroz to investigate. When they arrived they found two victims and a suspect outside a restaurant. One of the victims told the officers that he was chased by the suspect around the block and into the restaurant where he told his friend, who owned the restaurant, about being chased by the unknown suspect. Meanwhile, the suspect was outside harassing a woman who happened to be walking by. The restaurant owner went outside to confront the suspect who immediately fought the owner by punching him and biting him on the neck, throat, and left ear. The victim was able to breakaway and call police. Anton and Mroz placed the suspect in custody and transported him to Ingleside Station for booking. Report number: 170932240

Ingleside Officers Hardy and Scott were dispatched to the Safeway Store after an employee reported someone, pretending to be a vendor, stealing candy. The employee told the officers he noticed the man loading a handcart full of chocolate candy bars and other chocolate confections in the store and then took the items to a Honda that was in the parking lot occupied by another suspect. The stolen items were put into the Honda’s trunk, which drove away in an unknown direction. Report number: 170935222

A woman heard a knock at the front door of her home. She went to the front door, looked outside, and saw a white van belonging to the workman who was remodeling her residence. She opened the door and was immediately confronted by an unknown man wearing a white plastic mask. The intruder pushed the homeowner into the home, through a hallway and into a bathroom. He took an electrical cord and tied the bathroom door shut. However, the resident was able to escape through a second bathroom door and ran out of the residence telling a worker to call police. Ingleside Officers, Cagney, Salazar, Sgt. Springer, K9 Officer Jimenez and several other units arrived and searched the home without success. The homeowner looked through the home and found nothing missing. Report number: 170927445

A man and his girlfriend returned home and noticed his locked gate open and the front door ajar. He pushed open the door and was immediately confronted by a suspect who said, “I’ll shoot you”.  The victim noticed two more suspects inside his home and immediately turned and fled down the street toward Madrid. He told Ingleside Officers Chew, Watts, and Leung that while running away, he saw the suspect enter a dark blue Dodge Magnum which fled northbound on Madrid. The officers cleared the home before allowing the homeowners back inside. Several rooms were ransacked and jewelry and cash were missing. Report number: 170928255

Ingleside Officers Barajas, Seavey, Carew, and Jensen were on routine patrol when they spotted four men walking away from Crocker-Amazon Park. The officers recognized one of the men who had two previous arrests for robbery and was on probation with a search condition. The officers followed the four and finally stopped them at Geneva and Vienna Streets. The suspect with the record, and who was on probation, was searched which turned up a hidden firearm. He was arrested and transported to Ingleside Station and booked for the probation violation and for possession of a concealed firearm by a prohibited person. The other three men were released at the scene. Report number: 170925336

2:51pm       San Jose & Randall                          D.U.I

For the second time this week, Ingleside officers were dispatched to a report of a car on the streetcar tracks at San Jose and Randall. For the second time this week a drunk driver was the cause. Ingleside Officers Mora and Fitzpatrick arrived and found a late model Mazda SUV several yards down San Jose Avenue blocking he streetcar tracks. They also found the driver and her 13 year old daughter nearby. The driver appeared flustered and her speech was slurred. She was unsteady and unable to adequately perform the roadside sobriety test. She agreed to go to Mission Station for a breath alcohol test. The test results showed she had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit. The driver was transported to the County Jail and booked for DUI. Her daughter was picked up by her father. Her car was then towed to impound. Report number: 170923227

Officers Archilla and Lustenberger were on routine patrol when they spotted two men running across Mission Street through traffic chased by two other men. The four boarded a stopped Muni bus. Archilla and Lustenberger stopped their patrol car and detained all four young men. One of the men said he was having dinner in a nearby restaurant when he got up from the table and went to the bathroom leaving his backpack by the table. When he exited the bathroom and restaurant employee said two men had just taken his backpack and ran outside. The victim and his friend ran after the pair and retrieved the backpack on the bus. The officers arrested the pair of thieves. One was transported to Ingleside Station for booking. The other was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center for booking. Report number: 170923528

8:35pm       3300 Blk. Mission                             Deadly Weapon

Store employees watched warily as a customer was placing items into a shopping bag in the checkout line. The employees told Ingleside Officers Kikuchi and Bailey that they told the suspect to return the items. But instead, they said, she took out a large kitchen knife and threatened the employees before running out of the store. The officers broadcast a description of the woman suspect and she was immediately spotted by Ingleside Officers Wise and Van Zandt at Mission and Cesar Chavez. She was arrested on the spot for brandishing a deadly weapon and driven to Ingleside Station where she was cited and released. Report number: 170924009

A theft victim tracked his stolen property throughout the city helping police nab the suspect. The Massachusetts victim left a backpack containing and IPad, Bose Music Player, IPod, and luggage in his car parked at 18^th and Mission Streets. When he returned to the vehicle he found his car window smashed and some of his belonging missing. He turned on his tracking software which told him the stolen items were somewhere inside an apartment building on the unit block of McAllister Street. He drove there and asked the building security people if he could look at security footage to see if he could spot someone entering with his property. But the security personnel said he would need to be accompanied by a police officer for that to happen. While he was discussing the issue the victim’s cell phone lit up and told him his property was now in the unit block of Byron Street. He drove there and called police. Ingleside Officers McCall and Lozano arrived and accompanied the victim to the suspect’s apartment door. The officers knocked on the door and the suspect opened it. The officers asked for the property and she handed over all that was stolen. The young woman was arrested and held at the scene until the father of her young children arrived to take custody of them. She was then driven to Ingleside Station and booked for theft from a vehicle. Report number: 170924413

9:25pm       San Jose & Santa Ynez                Reckless Driving

Ingleside Officers Lustenberger and Seavey were leaving the Station when they noticed an older Lexus speeding southbound on San Jose Avenue. The officers followed the driver as he failed to stop properly at the intersection of Santa Ynez and San Jose. The Lexus then took off at over 40mph, above the 25mph speed limit, and finally stopped at the Intersection of San Jose and Santa Rosa Streets. The officers stopped their patrol car next to the Lexus to ask the driver to slow down. But instead of cooperating with the officers, he became belligerent and took off at a high rate of speed. Seavey and Lustenberger radioed for assistance and searched the neighborhood until finally, with the help of Ingleside Officers Wong and Dedet, they found the suspect near Mission and Santa Rosa Streets. He was cited for reckless driving and delaying a police officer from performing his duties. He was cited at the scene and his Lexus was towed to impound. Report number: 170921566

A woman walked into a store and was stopped by the store clerk. He told the woman she was not allowed in the store because of previous problems. The suspect took out a large kitchen knife and threatened the store clerk. He called police and Ingleside Officers George and Cassinelli arrived. The officers searched the surrounding neighborhood and found the woman walking nearby. She was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, terrorist threats, and battery of a police officer after she spat at Officer George. Report number: 170921691

A report of a hot prowl burglary prompted dispatch to send Ingleside Officers Ocreto and Fitzpatrick. When the officers arrived they talked to the downstairs tenant who said she opened her front door to see an unknown man standing in the threshold. She didn’t think anything of it believing the young man could be a friend of the upstairs landlord. She didn’t do anything even after she heard footsteps from upstairs knowing her landlord was out of town. However, when she went outside and saw that the garage door had been propped open, she decided to call police. The officers entered the home and discovered other doors had also been forced open. Upstairs they also found rooms in disarray and expensive jewelry, cash, and coins missing. Report number: 170920687

Another hot prowl burglary sent Ingleside Officers Rodriguez and Chang to a home in the unit block of Navajo Street. The residents told the officers that a suspect or suspects hopped a backyard fence, cut a bottom floor bedroom window bug screen, then opened the unlocked window and stole a purse that was lying on a desk. All this took place while the residents were upstairs eating dinner. The loss was the purse, credit and debit cards, house keys, and paperwork. Report number: 170922586
