San Francisco Police Make Arrest in
Taraval Kidnapping
On March
23, 2017, at approximately 5:00 PM, a 13 year old girl was walking on the unit
block of on Forest Side Avenue. The victim saw a white male walking towards
her. The suspect grabbed the victim and pushed her into his vehicle, while
making threats. The victim screamed, drawing the attention of several
witnesses. The witnesses came to the aid of the victim and were able to free
her from the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect fled the scene heading southbound
on Forest Side Avenue
Officers
from Taraval Police Station responded to the scene and commenced an
investigation. Officers provided a description of the vehicle to Dispatch which
was subsequently broadcast. Taraval units began searching the district for the
vehicle. Special Victims Unit investigators responded to the scene and began
their extensive investigation.
At
approximately 10:30 PM, two Taraval officers spotted a vehicle that matched the
description of the vehicle involved in the kidnapping. The vehicle was located
in the Taraval District. The officers subsequently conducted a felony stop on
the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, 26 year-old San Francisco resident Lee
Mason Eigl, was positively identified as the suspect involved in the
kidnapping. Eigl was taken into custody without incident and was booked for
kidnapping and assault with intent to commit rape on a person under 18 years
old. Due to pending identification matters, the subject’s photo will not be
released at this time.
The San
Francisco Police Department thanks the good Samaritans who acted quickly to
save the victim and provided the department with pertinent information which
assisted in the suspect’s arrest.
