Arrests:

06:25pm     400 Blk Rolph               Shooting into Inhabited Dwelling
A small family gathering could have turned deadly when bullets started flying and hitting the family dwelling on the 400 block of Rolph Street. The daughter told Officers Hawkins and Kikuchi that she was visiting her brother and their 98 year old mother when they heard three loud explosions close by. She said they were in the kitchen when they heard the noises and went to the adjacent room to investigate. In the back bedroom she noticed a bloom of dust floating in the air. She then went downstairs thinking the noises she heard may have been an electrical explosion. When she didn’t see anything downstairs, she went out into the backyard and saw two large holes in the rear wall of the upstairs bedroom. She then looked around and saw her back neighbor standing in his yard holding what she can only describe as a “Bazooka”. She and several other neighbors in the area immediately called the police. Several Ingleside units responded and determined the man with the gun was at a residence on the 1300 block of Geneva Avenue. All the units on scene coordinated and set up a perimeter around the house. After a short while, Sgt Maron made a “call out” to anyone inside the residence. Without further incident, the suspect walked outside and was quickly taken into custody by the officers along the perimeter. After a search warrant was obtained, Officers Quintero and Archilla entered the suspect’s home and found a large cache of rifles and handguns, which were all eventually seized. Report Number: 160602798

Serious Incidents:

11:13am     300 Blk Persia                Theft
A victim and her sister were on their way home from the store when someone ran up and snatched her cell phone from her hand. The victim told Officers Campos and Monroe that they were walking eastbound on Persia approaching Paris when a suspect approached them from behind. The suspect proceeded to reach out and quickly snatched the victim’s cell phone that she was holding in her left hand. The suspect then ran down Paris to eastbound Russia where both the victim and her sister lost sight of him. Luckily no one was injured in the incident. The officers searched the area to no avail.
