Arrests:

7:04pm       Unit Blk Blythedale                Stolen Vehicle
An older Honda Civic, the make and model car that is on many “most stolen” lists, was spotted at a stop sign. Ingleside Officers Scott and Hardy observed the driver as he took a long time before finally moving along. That was suspicious enough for the officers to run the plate, which revealed the car was stolen out of San Francisco. Scott and Hardy radioed for backup and pulled the driver over on Brookdale Avenue. The officers exited their patrol car and began walking up to the stolen Honda, when suddenly the driver took off at a high rate of speed. Scott and Hardy returned to their patrol car and broadcast that they were in pursuit of the stolen car. The suspect turned onto westbound onto Geneva and fled and the officers, fearing for public safety, stopped the chase. A short while later an SFPD narcotics unit heard Daly City radio traffic that the stolen car was in the vicinity of France and Vienna Street and the driver had fled into the backyards behind homes on the 600 block of France Avenue. Numerous Daly City and Ingleside units flooded the area after the stolen vehicle was found abandoned in the 700 block of France. The suspect was eventually found near a home on the 700 block of France and arrested. The homeowner said the suspect jumped into his backyard and told him, “Can I stay here? I’m hiding from the police”. He was arrested for vehicle theft and other felonies. Inside the stolen Honda officers retrieved a loaded magazine for a Glock 9mm pistol and other items. Report number: 160631286

Serious Incidents:

8:30am       200 Blk Polaris                        Hot Prowl Burglary
Ingleside Officer Garza was dispatched to an address in the 200 Block of Polaris after a homeowner reported his car was stolen and the thieves also took things from his home. When Garza arrived on scene the homeowner provided more information. The stolen car, a Toyota Prius, was also used as a ride share on the weekends. The homeowner also said the thieves gained access to his home through an unlocked door. A large amount of cash was missing from the home. The homeowner used the ride sharing app to find the location of his stolen car at 25th and Rhode Island, on Potrero Hill. A short time later Ingleside Officers Devlin and Hopkins traveled to Potrero Hill and recovered the vehicle. Report number: 160647324

8:47am       1600 Blk Sunnydale                Hot Prowl Burglary
A man asleep in his bedroom heard banging outside his home. He thought it was construction workers and didn’t think anything of it. Soon, thereafter, he heard a ripping noise coming from his upstairs bedroom. He went upstairs and saw an unknown hand move the curtain on the bedroom window and then look inside at the startled resident. When their eyes met, the burglar yelled to an accomplice below, “Someone’s in here”.  The suspect then let go of the curtain and fled in an unknown direction. The suspect called police and Ingleside Officers Cvetovac and Henderson responded to investigate. Report number: 160647982
