Arrests:
5:08am 3300 Blk Mission Possession
of Air Gun
Some vehicle owners try a ruse on police officers thinking
that a cosmetic change to a license plate will trick officers into believing
the car is correctly registered. They will attach a current year registration
sticker to an expired license plate. The reasons vary, mostly because the owner
can’t afford the registration fees or the vehicle can’t pass smog. On this
date, Ingleside Sergeant Ly was driving through the Safeway parking lot and
spotted 2001 Toyota with a 2016 registration sticker on a license plate that
expired in 2015. The driver told Sergeant Ly that he bought the car with the
wrong sticker attached. But Ly found out that was a lie because the driver was
cited last month for the same violation. A woman passenger in the car had a BB
gun with CO2 canisters along with ammunition. The BB gun didn’t have the
required colored muzzle tip alerting officers and others that this is a BB gun
and not the real firearm it’s designed to replicate. Officer Ly confiscated the
gun and ammunition and cited the owner. The driver was cited for the vehicle
violation, the license plates confiscated, and his car was towed to the impound
yard. Report

9:20pm 2200 Blk San Jose Robbery
A combined effort involving Ingleside, Taraval, and Daly City Police
officers resulted in the arrest of two violent robbers. It started on the 2200
block of San Jose Avenue when a man, getting into his parked car, was
approached by three men. One of the suspects punched him repeatedly in the head
while the other suspects searched through his car for valuables. The robbers
removed his keys and wallet from this pocket and his cell phone from his hand
before running to a waiting Ford Mustang which sped away. An off duty Ingleside
officer witnessed the robbery and called in a description of the robbers and
the Mustang. A short time later, Ingleside Officers Hardy and Scott found the
vehicle at Alp Street and Hillside Drive in Daly City. The officers attempted
to stop the vehicle but the driver took off at high rate of speed. Hardy and
Scott broadcast that they were in pursuit and other units from the Taraval
District and Daly City P.D. joined the chase, which ended when the Mustang
crashed into parked vehicles near the intersection of Mission and Parkview
Streets. All three suspects bolted from the car but Taraval Officers Gummo and
Cavanaugh were able to quickly apprehend two of the suspects. A concerted
search through surrounding streets and backyards by both Daly City and San
Francisco officers failed to find the third suspect. The two suspects were
taken to Ingleside Station and booked for robbery and several other felonies.

6:03pm 200 Blk Surrey Hot
Prowl Burglary
A resident woke up in the morning and found his garage door
open and his bicycle missing from the garage. He told Ingleside Officers Parker
and Ali that he was in his garage the previous night and noticed the bicycle
was there and his garage door closed and locked. He suspected that he may have
accidentally opened his garage door when placing the garage door remote in his
pants pocket the night before. Report number: 160569693
10:47pm 1900 Blk Alemany Robbery
Ingleside Officers Dilag and Mackenzie were sent to the 1900
Block of Alemany to investigate a report of an armed robbery. The victim told
the officers that shortly before the robbery he had withdrawn cash from the Bank
of America ATM and walked to a nearby gas station to buy cigarettes. He was
smoking a cigarette on the east side of Alemany when two men approached him and
asked for a smoke. He gave one of the men a cigarette when suddenly both men
threw him against a parked van with one of the suspects taking out a stick and
hitting him. He told the officers he was punched, kicked, and struck multiple
times by both men. He surrendered approximately $300 in cash to the suspects
before both men escaped. The victim stayed on the ground, afraid to get up, and
asked a passerby to call police. He declined medical attention. Report number:
