Shelley Dr. Stolen Auto
Ingleside Officers George and Toomey were searching McLaren
Park on an unrelated case when they noticed an older VW van parked on John F.
Shelley Drive with the driver asleep at the wheel. The officers ran the plate
on the van and it came up stolen. Toomey and George woke up the driver who,
initially tried to start the vehicle and drive away. However, Toomey and George
persuaded the thief that his actions would only lead to more problems for him.
He surrendered and was placed in custody. A records check of the driver
revealed several felony warrants for the driver including ones for vehicle
theft and other crimes. Report number: 160279137
3:52am Unit Blk Arago Hot Prowl Burglary
A barking dog helped a citizen and police capture a burglar.
The victim told Ingleside Officers Sandoval and McMilton that he and his
girlfriend were asleep in their downstairs bedroom when their German Shepard
dog started barking aggressively at the door. The victim got up, put the dog on
leash, and opened the door which connected to an adjacent garage. He noticed
the garage door was open and he went outside to see the suspect walking down
the street with a pair of the victim’s shoes slung over his shoulder. He told
his girlfriend to call police while he, and his dog, chased the suspect. The
suspect, possibly recognizing that he wasn’t going to escape the victim and his
now unleashed dog, stopped and sat down on the curb until Officers Sandoval and
McMilton arrived seconds later. Besides the shoes on his shoulder, the suspect
took the victim’s backpack from the garage and placed several other pairs of
the victim’s shoes inside. He was arrested for burglary and taken to Ingleside
Station. Report number: 160279143
4:58am John Glenn Cir., Daly
City Search Warrant Service
San Francisco and neighboring cities have been plagued with
auto burglaries. Investigators have identified several suspects and on this
date a joint task force consisting of Daly City officers and Ingleside Officers
Quintero and Archilla served a search warrant on an address in Daly City where
two men, with previous felony convictions, were suspected of numerous San
Francisco car burglaries. The task force entered the suspect’s home and found
clothing and shoes not belonging to the suspects, burglary tools used to break
into vehicles, a significant quantity of narcotics, and two firearms with high
capacity magazines. The suspects were taken to Ingleside Station and booked on
several felony charges. Report number: 160279165
11:46pm 100 Blk Porter Hot
Prowl Burglary
On this evening a hot prowl burglar was arrested for stealing
hot dogs. Ingleside Officers Neary, McMilton, and Sandoval were dispatched to
an address on Porter Street to investigate a report of an active burglary. When
they arrived they found one of the residents leaning out an upstairs window.
The resident told the officers that a burglar had broken a back window and was
on the first floor of the home in the kitchen. The officers entered the front
door and found the suspect in the backyard attempting to flee. He was placed in
handcuffs and a search of his clothing revealed a package of hot dogs. He
admitted to taking the hot dogs from a kitchen refrigerator in the burglarized
home. Report number: 160282083
